Check: Image colour, detail & tone.

Check: Do the skin t ones appear natural looking or are they too red, yellow or pale? Are the shirts vibrant and rich in colour

or do they look washed out or too dark? Can you see the hairclip in the shadow area of the orange girl’s hair and the

braces in the yellow and red boy’s teeth? The hair should appear sharp in definition.

      Ref. ID. 1757

    Check: Colour Management

This carefully constructed image, using a series of alternating, vertical, RGB and CMYK strips - (see diagram below) can also

be used to help you determine if your RIP’s colour management is processing colours as expected.

Check: Can you see any visible difference in colour between the RGB and CMYK printed strips?

If your colour management workflow is set up correctly there should be almost no visible difference between the strips (ie.

it appears as one complete image).

NOTE: you might find a very slightly detectable difference in the

orange, yellow or dark blue shirts. With some RIPs there is no

visible difference at all across the entire image. When viewed onscreen (prior to processing) you should see visible differences

between the RGB and CMYK strips.

      Ref. ID. 1883

    Check: Greyscale to CMYK conversion

Check: Does the CMYK image (right half) show as neutral grey

tones or does it have a colour bias (eg. yellow/warm/cool greys).

The CMYK image was converted to CMYK: ISO Coated v2 (ECI)

    with Rendering Intent: Perceptual.

      Ref. ID. 1815

    Check: RGB Greys

Check: Do the greys show as

neutral tones or do they have a

    colour bias (eg. yellow/warm/cool

    greys)?

      Ref. ID. 1815

    Check: Resolution

    Reference Chart

    Check: Use this

    reference guide to

    help you determine

    acceptable image

    resolution levels for

    your printer.

      Ref. ID. 1795

Check: Image colour, detail & tone.

Check: The various images in this area provide examples of saturated colours, fine detail, dark tones

(shadows), light tones (highlights), smooth gradients and memory colours (ie. colou rs we expect to

recognise; for example, skin tones & blue skies).

      Ref. ID. 1767

    Check: Whites and Grey tones

Check: Does the leather vest have a slight

yellow tint compared with the skirt?

Is there good detail in the buckles and

    bracelet?

Does the dark background blend smoothly?

ATTENTION: To correctly print this document, strictly follow all instructions outlined in the iQ Check Tool v2 Setup Guide  PDF provided with this tool.

This tool is designed with two purposes in mind; (1) as a Learnin g tool and (2) as a Troubleshooting tool. To use it as a learning tool, print this document with all of the RIPs Image Quality features turned OFF, thenactivate them one at a time to see how the various graphic elements respond. As a troubleshooting tool, the various test elements on this page can help you determine if your calibrated print system (Printer and RIP) is

producing quality prints with correctly processed colours, text and vector elements. Carefully study the printed results of this tool and compare them with your own image quality issue. If this print exhibits the sameissue then please report your findings to a Fuji Xerox Technical Support Representative to discuss if your system may require servicing. If the issue does not appear then you may need to make changes to the jobproperties or to the file you are processing. Please check the Customer Expectation Document for your machine’s specifications and tolerances. The online iQ Check Tool v2 User Guide, provides detailed descriptions

of all elements contained within this tool. To view the articles, click on the icon below or visit http://onlinesupport.fujixerox.com/iqct/guide.pdf and click on the desired element in the thumbnails provided. O N
