IPTV FeaturesWelcome to IPTV! We offer an all digital, extensive channel line up featuring movies, sports, music, local programming, premium channels, Spanish language, religious and ethnic networks, all over a state of the art fiber optic network.

The following user guide will assist you in getting the most out of your IPTV features.

understanding the Main Menu Bar

Guide will bring up the program guide.

PVR provides access to programs recorded using the PVR, as well as reviewing recordings you have scheduled. You can also create a scheduled recording event, review the history of what you have recorded recently, or delete your recording history.

Vault provides quick access to reminders you have scheduled and messages from your service provider.

Search allows you to search program listings .

Favorites allows you to choose, edit, create or delete a favorite channel list.

Parental Control allows you to enable or disable parental control settings.

Settings offers access to creating parental controls and setting blocked channels, change your settings for HD, enable closed caption, as well as creating additional user accounts.

Sign out allows you to sign out of a user account. This only appears if you are using the Enable Login option under Settings/ Preferences, have multiple user accounts, and have signed in with a user name and password.

Use the Guide to see what is on now or up to 8 days in the future*. You can set reminders or recordings for upcom-ing programs in Guide.

To view the Guide, select Guide from the menu bar, or press the Guide button on your remote control.

You can scroll through the contents with the directional buttons surrounding the OK button on your remote con-trol.

An arrow to the left of the program name means the program has already started. If you highlight a program, a brief description of the program will appear in program information section in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

For more detailed information on the program, select the program, press OK, then press the Info button on your remote control.

*The Search feature searches up to two weeks in the future – see the Search section for more information.

If you press the Guide button on the remote control more than once, the guide will rotate between All, Subscribed, HD, and your Favorite channel line up, if you have selected favorites.

All• - shows all channels that are available. Subscribed• - shows the channels in your package that you have subscribed to. HD• - shows all HD programming. Favorites list• - show channels you have selected as your favorite channels. See the Favorites section for

instructions on programming your favorites.

If you select a program that has not started yet and press OK, you will be given the option to record that program, set a reminder for the program, or schedule an event. (This applies only if your set- top box is a PVR and you have subscribed to the PVR service.) A Scheduled Event is the name for any setting you create that causes the system to remind you about a pro-

gram, or record a program automatically. The Scheduled Event types are: Reminders, Auto Tunes and Recordings.

Vault

A list of your scheduled program reminders, auto-tune events, and messages from your service provider are stored in your Vault.

To access the Vault, press the Menu button or Home but-ton on your remote control and scroll over to Vault. Press OK.Select Reminder by pressing OK on your remote control to view its contents.

Reminder will show you all of the program reminders that you have set.

Press Messages to view video service messages. If you receive a message when you are not viewing TV, a mes-sage alert will appear on the menu bar.

Search

The Search feature allows you to search for programs by name. A listing of the programs and times will then pull up on your screen.

To access the Search feature, press the Menu or Home but-ton on your remote control.

Using your right arrow on your remote control, scroll to Settings. Press OK on your remote control.

In the Text Box, Press OK on your remote control. This will activate the keypad.

Using the arrows on your remote control, highlight the letter you wish to select and press the OK button on your remote control.

Once you are done making your selection, arrow to Done and Press OK on your remote control.

Arrow down to Search Guide, press OK.

Select either Extended Search* or Quick Search.

*Extended Search will return results from 14 days worth of guide data. Quick Search will return results from 8 days worth of guide data.

To view more information regarding a program, highlight the program and press the Info button on your remote control.

*Note – Customers that have subscribed to the PVR service can record a program from search results by highlighting the program that they wish to record and pressing the OK button on their remote control. FaVorites

Favorites allows you to create, edit, choose or delete a list of your favorite channels. You can have multiple favorites lists. For example, if you are a sports fan, you may want to set up a “Sports” favorite list with just your favorite sports channels, or you may prefer to set up favorites lists for dif-ferent members of your family.

When using a favorites list, only the channels in that list are shown in the Favorites Guide and when changing channels using the +/- channel control buttons on the remote control, you will only see the channels in the favorites list.

To creating a Favorites list, press the Menu or Home button on your remote control. Using the right arrow on your re-mote control, scroll to Favorites, press OK on your remote control. Select Create.

Highlight the channel that you would like to add to your Favorites. Press OK on your remote control. A heart icon will appear next to the channel that you have selected to add to your favorites.

Repeat until you have selected all of your desired chan-nels.

Select Update.

Parental Controls

Parental Controls allows you to turn on and off all paren-tal controls for your system. In addition, your Set Top Box allows for multiple user logins. This is useful in situations where you want to limit programming for children to certain channels, or certain ratings. Your Set Top Box is set up with one master account.

To access Parental Controls, press Menu on your remote control. Scroll to Settings. Press OK on your remote control.

Enter your password and press OK. (The default password is 1234.)

The Edit button will ONLY change parental controls for the master account.

To create a new user or to set parental controls for a different user, select the Users tab.

Parental Controls (Cont.) Creating a New User

To add a new user, while in the Users tab, select the Add button. Press OK on your remote control.

Create a name and password for the user. To enter let-ters, press the OK button on your remote control. A keypad will appear.

To select a letter, highlight the letter and press the OK button. When you are finished entering the name, highlight the Done button and press OK on your remote control.

To enter the password, use the number keys on your remote control and create your own password.

Under PIN, enter the master pin and select Continue. (The default pin is 1234.)

You will receive a message that says, “Continue by setting Parental Controls for this account?” select OK.

Setting Parental Controls for a New User

Select the Parental Controls by using the drop-down menus next to Movie Rating and TV Rating to choose the

HIGHEST rating the user will be allowed to view.

Movies are rated by the Motion Picture Association of America; TV ratings are set by the FCC.

*For more information on movie ratings, you can visit www.mpaa.org. For additional information on TV ratings, you

can visit www.tvguidelines.org.

You can also choose to block specific content by checking the Content Rating boxes. This will block programs with the checked content listed in the rating. When you have set controls, select Submit to save your settings.

Enabling Parental Controls for a New User

To enable the parental controls you set for a user, you must return to the Preferences page and make sure the check boxes next to Require Login and Parental control have a check in them. Select Submit.

*If you have created an additional user with strict parental con-trols, but have left the main user account unrestricted, you will

need to require a login on the main user account.

Once you have created additional user accounts, you will need to Sign Out when you are finished watching TV so the next time it’s turned on the viewer will be asked to log in. This ensures the proper parental controls will be activated for each viewer.

To Sign In or Out, press the Menu or Home button on your remote control. Scroll over to Sign Out. Press OK on your remote control. *If you do not see Sign Out in the menu bar, you have not selected Enable Login under the Settings option. If login is not enabled, your TV will not ask for a password when you or someone else turns it on and the master account will remain active.

Once you have Signed Out, you will see the Sign In screen. To find the account that you want to sign in to, highlight the account and Press OK. An up and down arrow will appear. Select the account that you wish to sign into by scroll-ing up or down. Press OK. Scroll down to Password and type in the password for the selected account. Select Sign In.

Channel Blocking

Channel Blocking allows you to disable/enable a list of blocked channels.

Press the Menu button on your remote control. Scroll over to Parental Controls, select by pressing OK on your re-mote control. Using the arrows on your remote control, highlight Edit next to Channel Blocking, and Press OK.

Highlight the channel or channels that you wish to block, Press OK and select Submit by pressing OK on your remote control.

Settings

The Settings option appears only when signed into the master account. You must enter your password to access the Settings menu. Selecting a box and pressing OK will either check or uncheck the option. When changing your set-tings, always press OK to make the change effective.

Preferences

Checking Require login means users will have to sign in after a previous user has signed out. Checking this option allows parental control settings to be effective for user ac-counts.

You can set Parental Controls and Channel Blocking only for the master account from this screen. Information for blocked channels WILL NOT show up, even if you have checked Show info.

Users

This is where you can create new users and set parental controls for a user. See the Parental Controls section for more information.

Packages

This screen is not applicable. For your security, you cannot change your package. To make any changes to your ac-count, you will need to contact Customer Support.

Billing

This screen will show you all packages that you are being billed for.

Hardware Settings Audio Settings

You should not change anything under this tab. Alternate languages are not currently supported.

Video Settings

This lets you choose from Standard, Letterbox and Wide-screen format.

If watching a standard screen format picture (4x3) on a widescreen TV, you will see black bars on the side of the pic-ture.

If the picture is widescreen and your TV screen is a standard 4x3, you will see black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.

* If you have a Standard Definition TV, DO NOT CHANGE THE TV STANDARD TO HD. If you do, your TV WILL NOT work. If you choose any TV standard not compatible with your TV, you WILL NOT be able to change it back.

Make sure to check your TV manual to find out which setting is the right one. For best reception, leave the RF Channel on 3.

Closed Captioning

If your TV doesn’t have closed captioning, you can use the STB decoder option to view closed captions. Please make sure the box is checked next to Closed Caption.

Make sure to click Save Changes to apply new settings. You must reboot your set-top box for new Hardware Settings to take effect. Unplug the power cord for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in to reboot your set-top box.

With your Amino AmiNet530 Personal Video Recorder, not only can you record your favorite shows and movies, but you can pause and rewind live TV. The PVR also replaces your VCR, allowing you to record hours of programming in digital and high definition quality.

Using on screen menus, you can browse through your recorded material and play back recordings of your choice, with full control over the playback, including pause, multi-speed fast forward, multi-speed rewing, and slow motion.

*The following features are only applicable if you have the PVR Set top box and the PVR service. If you currently do not have PVR and would like additional information on features and pricing, please contact Customer Service.

From the Menu, scroll to PVR and Press OK on your remote control.

reCordings

Recordings allows you to see what content you have already recorded. Select a title and press OK to view the program.

To see what programs you have scheduled to record, select To Record.

Record History shows the complete Recording History for the PVR.

sCheduling

Schedule Priority will allow you to set a priority for a program in the event there is a conflict with multiple programs sched-uled at one time. This comes in handy when you are Schedul-ing Events.

To schedule a new recording, select Schedule Event. Select the channel, date and time you want to record. The name of the program will display at the top of the screen.

You can change the frequency from one time to weekly, every Monday —Friday or every day.

*You can also schedule DVR recordings by using the Search feature or the Guide and selecting a program. Press OK and choose Record. See the Search and Guide sections for more information on finding a program.

PVr liVe FunCtions

You have the ability to pause, rewind, play and fast forward live TV with your PVR. You can do this by using the Video Play-back Controls on your remote control.

*Note, fast forwarding Live TV only works if you have already paused a program, or have used the rewind feature.

Troubleshooting and FAQHow do I reboot my set top box?

To reboot the set top box, unplug the black power cord located on the back of the set top box, wait about 10 seconds and plug the power cord in. The set top box will go through a reboot series taking approximately 3-5 minutes.

Channel(s) is/are not working, what do I do?

Try changing the channel to another channel, then turn back to the channel that was experiencing issues. This may clear up the problem. Check your other set top boxes to see if there are problems with the channel on other set top boxes in your home. If the problem is occurring on all set top boxes in your home, please contact customer service by calling 1-877-628-2763. If the issue is only occurring on one set top box, reboot your set top box. If rebooting your set top box does not clear up the issue, contact customer service by calling 1-877-628-2763.

What if I see a snowy screen or blue screen?

Check your TV input to make sure it is set on the correct input for your set top box.

My Set Top Box will not respond, what do I do?

The blue LED light on your set top box power button should flash each time a remote button is pressed. If this hap-pens but the set top box does not respond to your commands, reboot the set top box. If you continue to experience problems, please contact customer service at 1-877-678-2763.

The remote control is not working. What do I do?

Make sure there isn’t anything between the remote and the remote sensor on your receiver, and that you are within 20 feet of the receiver when using your remote control. Make sure that you are in the appropriate mode. To operate your set top box, press the STB button on your remote control. If this does not work, try replacing the batteries in your remote control.

How do I program my remote control to work other devices?

You can find directions on programming your remote control to work with other devices in the Remote Control User guide at www.mstar.net.

Will the PVR (Personal Video Recorder) record on more than one TV in my home?

Currently, you can only record or playback recordings on the on the TV that you have the PVR connected to. Whole house PVR is coming soon.

Can I record one channel and watch another?

Yes, you can record one channel and watch another. *This feature should be activated within 24 hours of installation. If you find that you cannot record one channel and watch another, please contact Customer Service at 1-877-678-2763.

How do I order Pay Per View/Video on Demand?

Pay Per View/Video on Demand is not currently available, but is coming soon.11

The Amino remote control is designed to complement your Amino STB. The remote is universal—capable of controlling your basic TV functions as well as your Amino set-top box.

To program this remote, press and hold the TV and OK buttons. After 3 seconds the TV button lights up and remains lit. Enter the three-digit programming code. As each number is entered, the TV button will flash. It will go out when the final digit is entered. Press TV and the power button. The TV will turn off, if you entered the correct code.

Remote Control GuideCustomers with PVRs, and some customers with standard boxes will have this remote

The Amino remote control is designed to complement your Amino STB. The remote is universal—capable of controlling your basic TV functions as well as your Amino set-top box.

To program this remote, hold the TV button. Continue holding as you see the light on the remote blink twice, and then blink twice more. Do not release the TV button until you have seen the light blink four times. Enter the programming code for your television and press OK. To Test that the code worked, press the TV button and then “Power.” If the code you entered was correct, this should turn your television off.
