2. This manual is one of a series that comprises t h e I l l u s t r a t e d Parts Breakdown for Navy Models P-3A and P-3B aircraft. The Organizational Maintenance Illustrated Parts Breakdown Manual is aircraft system-oriented with each system being covered in a separate manual. T h e I P B is u s e d f o r requisition, issue, and identification of parts. Refer to NAVAIR 01 -75PAA-4-14 for detailed introduction material. 3. RECORD OF APPLIC ABL E T ECHNICAL DIRECTIVFS, 4. 6. The Usable O n Code provides suitable coding for assemblies and parts to indicate specific usability of aircraft serial number. The absense of a code in the Usable on Code column indicates that the parts so shown are usable as replacements o n a l l aircraft covered by this manual. The appearance of an (*) asterisk in the Usable On Code column indicates that parts having identical nomenclature are interchangeable and the parts which are not asterisked are both interchangeable and preferable to the asterisked parts. Where all parts are asterisked, they are completely interchangeable and no part is preferable. The appearance of an asterisk and a code symbol: for example, "*B",indicates that interchangeability is limited to the extent of the Usable On Code.

Parts Breakdown is divided into Volumes the figures i n each volume are numbered cons e c u t i v e l y b e g i n n i n g w i t h FOOO1-00, FOOO2-00, etc. After the first issue of the manual, i f a figure must be added between two existing figures, the fifth and sixth digits of the figure number are used; for example, if a figure must b e added between FOO20-00 and FOO21-00, it will be numbered FOO20-01. Figure numbers listed in the Illustrated Parts Breakdown are not intended to correspond w i t h t h e WP n u m b e r s of a p p l i c a b l e maintenance instructions. 25. P A R T S K I T . R e p a i r p a r t s p r o c u r e d , stocked, requisitioned, and accounted for on a kit basis are identified in the SM&R column in accordance w i t h N A V A I R I N S T 4423.3A. Items so identified are not procured separately and should not be ordered from separate stock to make up a kit.

Items that are indenture column 1 have their nomenclature flush with the left margin of the description column.
