Call for Board Nominations

Now accepting nominations for our Board of Directors

Submit Your Nomination IowaBio is now accepting five nominations for the 2020-2022 term as well as an additional immediate opening to fulfill a former Board Member's 2018-2020 term. Nominations will be accepted through May 17, 2019 and the final slate of officers will be voted on at our June 13th Annual Member Meeting. All IowaBio members are welcome to attend the meeting in-person or via conference call. Nominations will be accepted to fill Board seats from the following industry categories:

• Two (2) from the Healthcare/Pharmaceuticals/Medical Devices industry (to start January 1, 2020) • Two (2) from the Food/Agriculture/Veterinary Medicine industry (to start January 1, 2020) • Two (2) from the Industrial/Environmental industry (one for immediate start and one to start January 1, 2020)

The Nominating Committee for the Board of Director elections will review all submissions and is responsible for presenting a slate of directors to vote on during IowaBio’s Annual Member Meeting, held on June 13, 2019 at Agribusiness Association of Iowa. An email will be issued to all members on May 29 to announce the proposed slate of Board Members. If you nominated yourself or a colleague and they are not listed on the May 29 announcement, you may re-submit your nomination, endorsed with the names of not less than five voting (Core) members of Iowa Biotechnology Association. Re-submissions must be sent to IowaBio’s Executive Director, Jessica Hyland, via email at [email protected] no later than June 6, 2019. Policy specifies that IowaBio’s Chair, Victor Nsereko, appoints this year's Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee is as follows:

It is also critically important that each nominee has the support from her/his company to travel and attend the IowaBio events and quarterly Board meetings throughout the three-year term. This internship is an exciting opportunity for a student who may be interested in a Marketing career in the fast-growing Biotechnology Industry. We are seeking a driven individual who will assist us part-time in fulfilling the mission of our association. The student selected for this position will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and an ability to adapt to a variety of situations. The selected student will be asked to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Assist in the promotion of events hosted by the Association via e-mail, website, social media and other channels.

• Create social media campaigns for IowaBio events and maintain the Association’s different media platforms by creating unique content, sharing member news and engaging with followers

• Organize and assist in the logistical operations associated with each event such as registrations, payments,

name badges, etc.

• Create marketing materials for events such as posters, flyers, and PowerPoint slides.

• Coordinate other marketing-related activities for the association as assigned including information pieces, website updates, media relations, newsletter, public relations, etc.

• Participate as a team member within the association and take initiative to complete tasks in a timely and professional fashion.

Interested candidates will be evaluated via their resume and personal interview. This is a PAID position to be negotiated with the selected candidate. The selected candidate will work in a flexible, small-office atmosphere and have the opportunity to interface with leaders in one of Iowa’s most exciting and fastest growing industries. The internship will begin June 10, 2019 and end May 31, 2020 with the potential for longer based on performance and availability.
