✩✩✩✩✩✩ AUDITIONS AUDITION DATES Sunday, November 5th at 7:00pm Monday, November 6th at 7:00pm CASTING Seeking a highly diverse cast of 17 actors ages 16 and up. REQUIREMENTS Those auditioning will need to prepare 16-32 bars of a rock/pop/metal song from the 80s/90s (Pat Bentar, Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard, KISS, Styx, etc.) and you may sing from the show. You may also be taught a movement combination and may be asked read from the script. CREW Production Crew positions are available for Light Board Operator, Sound Board Operator, Follow Spot Operators, Floor Crew, Fly Crew, Props Crew, Hair/Make Up Crew and Dressers. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace, and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strip’s legendary venues, a place where heartthrob Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and eager groupies line up to turn their fantasies into reality. Amid the madness, aspiring rock star Drew longs to take the stage as the next mega-star, but his rock and roll dreams are about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another strip mall! Can Drew and his gang save the Strip before it’s too late? Rock of Ages takes you back to the time of big bands, with big egos, playing big guitar solos. NICKI POERDirector of

Rock of Ages

MEET THEDIRECTOR

Nicki first served as a choreographer for TheSound of Music at Stage 212 in LaSalle, IL over20 years ago and has not stopped since! Byday she serves as the Director of Education &Outreach here at the Civic where she overseesmany programs including the Academy ofTheatre Arts and Shakespeare Outside. Nickihas directed many productions here at TheCivic, including Shrek the Musical, The Hobbit,Peter Pan, Nuncrackers, James and the Giant

Peach and was Director/Choreographer for The Magical Adventures ofMerlin and for our world premiere of Sleepy Hollow, A Musical Tale.Nicki holds a BA in Theatre from Millikin University and her MFA inActing is from the University of Montana. Also a performer, she wasmost recently seen in the Parish Theatre as Cindy Barnes in Hands OnA Hardbody. Selected past stage roles include Eva Peron (Evita), AdoAnnie (Oklahoma!), Mrs. Cratchit (A Christmas Carol), Irene Roth (Crazyfor You), Prudie Cupp (Pump Boys and Dinettes), and one of herfavorites, Sir Andrew Aguecheek (Twelfth Night). Nicki has also servedas a makeup and wig/hair designer for numerous productions. Prior toher move to Kalamazoo in 2008, Nicki was Education Associate forCommunity-Based Programs at the Tony Award-Winning HartfordStage and toured for two years with the Missoula Children’s Theatreincluding a stint in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Nicki and her husband areboth extremely proud to work in theatre; Brad is Theatre Professor atKellogg Community College in Battle Creek. They are proud Kalamazooresidents along with their two energetic, musical young children and oneloveable, old dog. Nicki is stoked to finally put all of the choreography shecreated in her parents’ basement while watching MTV during the early1980’s to good use in this production.
