PRICES: Our dealer pricelist includes a suggested retail price (MSRP). We ask that all New Tribe, Inc. dealers use this price as a guide. With the exception of an occasional sale or special, the suggested retail price should be used as the minimum retail price. New Tribe, Inc. reserves the right to make price changes at any time without notice. Pricing available on request. Almost 30 years ago, New Tribe emerged as the only manufacturer of climb gear made specifically for people who climb trees for fun. These folks became our early fans and promoted New Tribe by word-of-mouth. Here’s a bit of history about the booming interest in rope and harness climbing as a passionate sport.

Since When Do People Climb Trees for Fun?

Peter “Treeman” Jenkins is a working arborist in Atlanta, Georgia, whose love for trees and climbing is infectious. His clients see him at work in the treetops and remark, “Hey, that looks like fun!” Back in 1983 Peter began showing others the ropes and founded Tree Climbers International, the school and tree climbers’ club that has inspired people worldwide to see trees with new eyes. On the Pacific coast at the same time, the folks at New Tribe took their love for forest hiking in a new direction—vertical! Drawing from the tools and techniques of arborists, cavers, rock climbers, canopy researchers, and tactical squads, New Tribe refined a tree climbing style that suited the tall conifers of our region. Soon we were creating comfortable safety gear and clever new tools and toys for every-one who wants to get up into the trees. Every so often someone from the news media looks up into the trees and tells a story of finding climbers there. After years of frequent coverage in press, radio and TV, and a lot of word-of-mouth sharing, the notion of recreational tree climbing is reaching the mainstream. Local clubs, climbing schools and outfitters are flourish-ing. Nearly everyone we talk to reports that they used to love climbing trees as a kid. They are thrilled to learn that they can now return to the treetops using rope and harness, and bring that inner child out to play again. For a more versatile fit, the leg straps are adjustable. They can be set to fit Small, Medium and Large. The ProGear II is an arborist saddle with big side D rings and a floating roller D on the leg strap bridge. It has a fixed front tie-in point that closes with a large pear screw link.

The leg straps are adjustable and include a quick re-lease buckle. The leg pads feature extended cushioning at the inner thigh for superior support and comfort. This is an Ultimate Saddle named for Tim "Tengu" Kovar, who wants a saddle as lightweight and as quiet and comfortable as possible without sacrificing safety. All of these features are important to a climber who wears his saddle while hiking into rough forestland, spends a lot of nights sleeping in his saddle, and wants to be ready for complicated rigging and rescue maneuvers. He also wants to vanish into his surroundings by keeping his visual and audio impact low.

The belt pad and leg pads on the Tengu are the shape and density of our arborist saddles, providing great support without restricting movement. The side D rings on the belt and the sliding D ring on the leg strap bridge are "soft" Ds that trim the weight and reduce noise, yet retain the life-safety strength of the saddle.

PRO SADDLE SUSPENDERS If you carry a lot of weight on your saddle belt, it helps to distrib-ute the load using suspenders.

This is a single suspender for use with New Tribe's professional saddles. Worn across your chest like a bandoleer, this suspender will stay on your shoulder. It's so close-fitting it never gets in your way. The strap length can be adjusted at both ends, so you can position the shoulder pad where you want it and it will stay there.

One is enough if you hang heavy gear like your chainsaw on only one side of your belt. Two suspenders work to-gether, one over each shoulder, when you want comfortable support for both sides of the belt.

It's a rope bag, a tarp, and a backpack. For efficient rope management, spread the tarp, flake the rope onto it, fold in the sides and roll it up into the pack like a burrito. Pull the drawstring snug, cinch up the compression straps and sling it onto your back to hike out to the trees. To deploy, unroll the tarp and haul up your rope free of tangles or debris from the ground. The pack is roomy at 16 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter. The tarp measures 40 by 55 inches and is sewn securely into the pack. There are two contrasting color loops on the tarp where you can tie the ends of your rope to keep it in order. SHANTA ROPE PACK

Proper care and storage makes a big difference in how long your rope will hold its value. You can protect your rope from light, moisture, abrasive grit and damaging solvents if you keep it clean and dry in a bag. A bag also makes transporting your rope safe and convenient. We think the best way to manage a rope is to keep it stuffed (not coiled) into a good rope bag. Stuffing doesn’t put twists in the rope and it pays back out of the bag like magic.

Our large Rope bag measures 1593 cu. in., 13" wide x 12" high, holds 200 feet of 1/2" arborist rope or 7/16" static rope.

TREEBOAT HAMMOCKS

We originally created Treeboat Hammocks for backpacking and paddling—it gave us a way to camp that was better than sleeping on hard ground, with a lot more options for where we could stop for the night. To our delight, Tree-boat’s strength and stability proved to be perfect for tree-canopy camping, too. Imagine climbing up into the top of a tree, and then getting to stay there, in blissful comfort, all day and even all night…

Treeboat is more than just a great piece of outdoor gear. Creating the first Treeboat in 1985 was a watershed event in our lives that changed how we spent our time outdoors. Nothing we own gives us the same feeling of wealth as the Treeboat, and if we could keep only one of our New Tribe creations, Treeboat would win hands down. It’s tremendously satisfying to watch Tree-boat continue to change other people’s lives the way it did ours.

TREEBOAT HAMMOCK Treeboat opens up a world of possibilities for getting comfortable at ground level and high in the trees, in all kinds of weather. Treeboat is a hammock that is sturdy, stable and warm. It won’t tip or sway. It won’t clamp shut around you. It is strong and roomy enough for two people to share (for lounging; overnight sleeping is usually best with one person per hammock). You can even stand and walk in it.

This rugged portable bed is 6’6" long, 30" wide, and made of tough nylon canvas renowned for its strength and abrasion resistance. The straps are 4000 lbs test 1" tubular nylon web- bing run-ning full length along both sides of the boat, ending with a buckle at each corner. It comes with 35 more feet of webbing, in 15- and 20-foot lengths for versatile rigging possibilities. The four buckles are 500 lbs proof load stainless steel. They are easy to adjust and eliminate knot-tying

during set-up. Each corner bears a 2500 lbs test rolled aluminum ring that helps stop rain water from wicking down the shrouds; the rings are also handy attachment points for the inventive rigging often called for in tree--top hammocking. TREEBOAT TENT More roomy and weather-tight than the Rainfly, the Tent has three fiberglass ribs that hold it

out like a covered wagon top. Made of water resistant 200 denier coated nylon oxford. The center rib can be set to flare outward giving ventilation and entry access from beneath, or it can be pulled in close to the sides of the Treeboat to keep wind out. Zippered vent doors at

TREEBOAT RAINFLY This is a lightweight, versatile sheet of weather-resistant nylon oxford cloth that arches over

the Treeboat. It is fitted with snaphooks, ties and D-rings that allow you to rig it as a rain shelter, sun shade, wind break, or privacy shield. With fiberglass ribs at each end that shape it

TREEBOAT MOSQUITO NET This full-length net is essential for peace and comfort when using your Treeboat around pesky

insects. It completely envelops the hammock. The zipper is positioned so you can open one whole side of the net for easy in and out of the

Treeboat. There are two zipper pulls that come together to close the zipper, and you can position them where it suits you best--low, within easy reach when you are lying in the ham

TREEBOAT OUTRIGGER BAG One of the best things about using a Treeboat Hammock is the lovely, lazy feeling of relaxing in the trees. It's heaven to read a book, watch birds, eat a picnic lunch, take photographs, or just

chug some water while lounging there. Here is our idea for a great way to keep it all handy.

The Outrigger is made of 400 denier nylon packcloth. It measures 18" long and 16" deep. Inside, it has one main

compartment and two smaller pockets made of mesh so you can see their contents. Stiff webbing reinforces the top of the bag so it won't capsize when loaded.

This bag clips between any two D-rings along the sides of your Treeboat, so you can hang it where it suits you best. It has a generous top flap that closes with a hook & loop fastener, to

keep the weather out of the bag. Finally, there are additional carabiner loops and a snaphook inside, so you can tether your valuables to keep from dropping them.

The Outrigger is a cinch to carry, since it folds completely flat when empty. Wt 6 oz. Item TBOUTRIG
