The salmon farming initiative will enter a Pilot Phase producing 400 tonnes per
annum, ramping up to 2,000 tonnes per annum. South Africa imports an
estimated 5,000 tonnes of salmon per annum.

Ratan Poultry farm is situated in the North-West Province. The farm
currently has broiler production facilities with a production capacity of
300 000 chickens per cycle (2.25 million / yr.) and is currently contracted to
Kroon’s Poultry North West of Pretoria. The design and layout of the abattoir is
done for a slaughter capacity of 6000 birds per hour, or 240 000 chickens per week, based on a single shift of 8 hours
