Interviews: The Officer who responded to the wreck. Emergency workers who responded to the accident scene (fire, ambulances). During this interview I would need to find out how the defendant was acting and if he was taken to the hospital. From the officer I would want to get the police report, field sobriety test, and a diagram of the accident scene. The witnesses of the accident to understand what they saw. The plaintiff and the defendant. Any of the defendant’s hospital records immediately after the accident. (Checking to see if he went to the hospital to see if they did a blood alcohol test.) Documents: I would want to get the plaintiff's lease agreement for his rented property. Reports from the contractor on what repairs were done, and the costs of the repairs. Hospital reports to confirm that the plaintiff sought medical attention for cuts and bruises as a result of a fall. Reports from his doctor concerning the follow up from his fall where he received cuts and bruises. Psychiatrist reports that the plaintiff has been seeing him since the accident. Attendance records for the plaintiff from their employer since the time of the accident. Diagram of the accident scene. All citations that the defendant received for the accident. The weather report for the night of the accident. Documents that state the speed limit for the area that the accident happened. Canceled checks, or receipts for the rent on the rental property. Pictures: Pictures of the house prior to the accident, after the accident, and once completed. Pictures of the plaintiff’s yard where the car went through it. Of the road where the accident took place. Of the road after the accident occurred to see if there were any skid marks on the road. Of the car before and after the accident. Pictures of the posted speed limit sign in the area of the accident.
