Why We Use TFACT

TFACT is an integral part of our work which will leverage transformational change, ultimately strengthening our movement:

“As a member of the RT’s leadership team, I want to say how excited I am to be here with all of you as you learn, what I consider to be, a truly transformational data platform, TFACT. Unlike what you may have used in the past to track your students’ efforts or other projects, TFACT provides an unprecedented level of access to every piece of data we are tracking across the organization. Because of this, I think TFACT provides an amazing opportunity for our organization to amplify our impact on those we seek to engage in our movement. “- Lindsey Ciochina

AK 6.30- I took out the video of other recruiters that was under the quote from Lindsey. I recommend prepping a vet to speak up in the room about how and why TFACT has benefited their work.

Why TFACT Matters

Data we can trust: a single source of truth about Teach For America’s constituents

Data and relationships we can share: data on constituents is shared by an integrated community of users

Improved constituent experience

Increased efficiency

Improved user experience

Flexibility for the future

Our Organization-Wide Mindsets

1. I am responsible for entering the information I gather about our constituents into TFACT because accurate information underpins strong decision making and execution for all teams at Teach For America.

2. I feel confident that the information I see in TFACT is accurate; it is the data of record for Teach For America teams and the source of our institutional knowledge.

3. TFACT enables me to collaborate by sharing data with my peers on other teams in order to meet our respective goals.

4. TFACT helps me work more efficiently and be more effective in my role.

Managing Relationships Case Study

IMAGINE THE WORLD WITHOUT TFACT•Susie Smith is a highly successful TFA alum•She often volunteers her time to recruitment, gives support to CMs in conjunction with the regional team, and participates in events that the Alumni Affairs team offers•However, the old data system never really allowed the RT, Region, and AA teams to clearly share all of the ways that they were engaging Susie and when they were engaging her•This lead to many situations where Susie was being asked to do a lot at once without anybody on our end realizing•She got frustrated and stopped engaging as much.

Does anyone in Teach For America talk to each

other?

Managing Relationships Case Study

IMAGINE THE WORLD WITH TFACT•Susie’s engagement with specific staff members is logged for everyone to see•The types of events and activities she likes to do with TFA are clearly documented so nobody is guessing about her interests or re-asking her what she’s eager to do•Her level of support for TFA is logged in the NPS section so we can see instantly how strongly she feels about the organization •Overall, her level of happiness is higher because our outreach is more well planned and organized across teams

OMG, I LOVE

SUPPORTING TEACH

FOR AMERICA

Managing Relationships Case Study 2

IMAGINE THE WORLD WITHOUT TFACT• James Jackson is a must-meet senior. You met with him last Spring, sent a thank you email, invited him to the summer network, and may have invited him to an alumni webinar (you can’t remember). •In order to see what your ongoing cultivation looked like, you open James’ file open each and read it to get a sense of what you had invited him to and what activities he had engaged in.

You are crunched for time, and can’t look up each must-meets file + read their emails, to figure out who you should invite to an exclusive alumni dinner, so you send a blanket email to all must meets. James actually attended a similar webinar last Spring, so he declines the invite, and doesn’t end up applying because he’s off put that we invited him to the same event twice.

Managing Relationships Case Study 2

IMAGINE THE WORLD WITH TFACT• James Jackson is a must-meet senior. You met with him last Spring, sent a thank you email, invited him to the summer network, and may have invited him to an alumni webinar (you can’t remember). You logged all events to TFACT.

•Before sending invites, you want to see a list of what must-meets need more cultivation like chatting with an alum, so you pull a report from TFACT of all your must-meets and their rating on the RT Continuum. You see that James is at the highest level of RT Continuum, Ongoing Cultivation Plus, which means that he has likely attended an event with an alum, but 5 other must-meets are at lower statuses, so you send them invites to the

alumni webinar instead of James. For James, you send a more personalized email checking in after the summer and offer to grab coffee again to touch base.

James agrees to meet, you discuss the alumni webinar and he applies!

Important: Users can only create new Non-Continuum Member records.

When a TFACT search does not produce an existing record for the organization, institution, etc.

Important: Users can only create the following record types: Business, Organization, and Government.

WalkMe Technology

What is WalkMe?• WalkMe Inc. allows each one of us to easily go

through various interactive on-screen ”Show Me How” guidance sequences in TFACT

• WalkMe can be used as a quick reference tool to refresh yourself on a skill or easily learn ones you have never used

• Each WalkThru in WalkMe shows you step by step what to do to complete a specific activity in TFACT (ie what fields to click or enter), but these WalkThrus will not explain context on why to use a specific TFACT skill

Let’s do a Demo of Sourcing My Favorite Professor!

FACILITATOR – flip to TFACT and demo using the Show Me How tool bar to add favorite professor

Chatter

What is Chatter?• Chatter is the social networking component of TFACT (e.g., Facebook,

Yammer)• It helps staff members connect with other coworkers inside of TFACT

and allows individuals to share business information in real time. • Chatter functionality includes:

• Creating a profile; following people, creating a post; “at” mentioning people in a post; adding a link to a post; liking a post; bookmarking posts; sharing files; sending a message; and creating and joining groups

Let’s Demo Chatter functionality!
