The Philanthropic Partners Program

The Philanthropic Partners Program is an initiative of Social Venture Partners to increase engaged philanthropy among small to mid-sized businesses. Designed for businesses that want to give back but have limited staff and expertise A Philanthropic Partner business commits to making a grant to a nonprofit organization

serving at-risk children or youth. In addition to the grant, a Philanthropic Partner provides volunteers from among its employees and management team to assist the nonprofit with a capacity building project.

Social Venture Partners provides its Philanthropic Partners with a ‘turn key’ process. Philanthropic Partner businesses receive: A complete grant making process including the documents and tools to solicit applicants,

evaluate applications, and award a grant. Training and coaching for employees participating on the grant team in basic concepts of

philanthropy and grant making and in use of the grant making tools. Assistance in selecting and defining the capacity building project your employees will do

with your grantee. The business is fully recognized in all communications to the grantee and to the media.

Closing Thought

"To give away money is an easy matter and in any man's power. But to decide to whom to give it, and how large, and when, and for what purpose and how, is neither in every man's power nor an easy matter.” - Aristotle
