Copenhagen, DenmarkCopenhagen (København) is the capital of Denmark and its largest city with a population of 1.2 million. A unique combination of modern design and old world charm, Copenhagen is people-friendly and has been named one of the world’s most liveable cities.
Modern thoroughfares and romantic cobblestone streets lead to a thriving cultural scene that includes art galleries, museums, music and theater. The busiest and best known part of Copenhagen is the inner city, which can easily be navigated on foot just like most parts of the city. Europe’s longest urban pedestrian street, Strøget, winds through the inner city and is lined with shops featuring Danish design as well as world-class fashion, depart-ment stores and cafés.
Other notable points of interest include: Christiansborg Palace, home to the Parliament, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Supreme Court; the Danish National Gallery, Denmark’s largest museum of Danish cultural history and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, founded by the brewer Carl Jacobsen.
Tivoli Gardens is the world’s second oldest amusement park and one of Copenhagen’s most famous attractions. Located in the center, this popular destination for children and adults offers rollercoaster rides, gourmet restaurants and stages for music and theater. The beautiful park setting

features more than 400,000 flowers and trees lit by 110,000 lights. Nice, FranceNissa [classical norm], Italian: Nizza) is a city in southern France located on the Mediter-ranean coast, between Marseille, France, and Genoa, Italy, with 1,197,751 inhabitants in the metropolitan area at the 2007 estimate. The city is a major tourist center and a lead-ing resort on the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur). It is the historical capital city of the County of Nice.
The natural beauty of the Nice area and its mild Mediterranean climate came to the atten-tion of the English upper classes in the second half of the 18th century, when an increas-ing number of aristocratic families took to spending their winter there. The city’s main seaside promenade,”Promenade des Anglais (‘the Walkway of the English’) owes its name to the earliest visitors to the resort. For decades now, the picturesque Nicean sur-roundings have attracted not only those in search of relaxation, but also those seeking inspiration. The clear air and soft light has been of particular appeal to some of Western culture’s most outstanding painters, such as “Marc Chagall, “Henri Matisse, Niki de Saint Phalle and Arman. Their work is commemorated in many of the city’s museums, including Musée Marc Chagall, Musée Matisse and Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret.
