To set up iPad, turn it on and follow the Setup Assistant.
The onscreen directions in Setup Assistant step you through the setup process, including: • Connecting to a Wi-Fi network• Signing in with or creating a free Apple ID• Setting up iCloud (includes 5GB free storage)• Turning on recommended features, such as Location Services and ‘Find My iPad’.
CHANGE THE LANGUAGE TO ENGLISH:Settings > International > Language > select English > Done.

An Apple ID is the user name for a free account that lets you access Apple services, such as the iTunes Store, the App Store, and iCloud. You need only one Apple ID for everything you do with Apple.
There may be charges for services and products that you use, purchase, or rent.
Create an Apple ID: Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores and tap Sign In.

1.Make sure you are connected to Wireless.2.Tap the Settings icon.3.Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.4.Tap Add Account …5.Choose Microsoft Exchange from the list of options.6.Enter the following information:
Email: Your full JCU email address i.e. [email protected]•Password: Enter your normal JCU computer account password•Description: A name for you to identify the account i.e. JCU Student
Set Up Your Student Email Service for JCU
1.Now tap the Next button.
2. In the Server field type: outlook.office365.com Username: Your full JCU email address i.e. [email protected]: Enter your normal JCU computer account password; and then tap Next.
3. Set the Mail, Contact and Calendar options to ON then tap SAVE.
4. If you must create a passcode, tap Continue and type a numeric passcode. Otherwise, do it later.
Final Steps:
Now select the Fetch New Data option.Set the Push to OFF then select your JCU Email Account from the list.
Then for the Fetch Schedule option choose Manual.
Return to your main screen by pressing the Home Button.

5. Once you are logged in, click on the relevant subject (e.g. SP93 Level 1) or a community. Then you will see what is on the next slide.

Switch on Automatic Notifications
Click on “Edit Notification Settings”, then click on your course.

Click on Mobile & Email. This will send messages to your phone & your JCU email.

You can now listen as you read.
Look for the audio sticker on the book cover.
Open your web browser and type http://services.jcu.edu.sg/media.
Enter your JC number and email password.
Choose the level (shown on the side of the book).
Choose the title, and then listen live.
Each track advances automatically.
Due to copyright rules, downloading is not available.
If you have any problems, report them using the built-in service.
iBooks is a great way to read and buy books. Download the free iBooks app from the App Store, and then get everything from classics to best sellers from the built-in iBookstore. Once you download a book, it’s displayed on your bookshelf.

Some Tips on Using the iPad2
To lock the screen in portrait or landscape orientation:Go to Settings > General, then tap Lock Rotation.Push the Side Switch towards the Volume buttons to lock.
Zoom In or Out
Take a photo of the screen.
Press ‘Home’ and ‘Sleep/Wake’ at the same time.
Understanding Control Center
You can access Control Center from anywhere in iOS—including the Lock screen. To access Control Center, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. To close Control Center, swipe down, tap the top of the screen, or press the Home button.
