Costa Rica originated from volcanic activity over four million years ago,

The country has more than 100 sleeping volcanoes re-mineralising the

earth and many active volcanoes aligned like pearls on a chain. Arenal,

Poás (the second largest crater in the world), and Irazú are the most active.

Our privileged location provides incredible biodiversity, 5% of the planet’s

to be exact. We seek to honor and celebrate this oneness with the earth

in our spa.

We partner with like-minded people that care for the planet, from

every vendor we work with to our spa staff, as we believe that to provide

ourselves and with the planet.

INTRODUCTION

Our origins are in energy, unity, and celebrating the richness of Costa

Rica’s biodiversity. Spa services embrace a holistic approach and include

millenarian traditions – Ayurveda, a holistic healing system founded on

the principle that health and wellness depends on a gentle balance of the

five elements present in our bodies; the traditional Turkish Hammam, an

excellent cleansing and purification ritual with a wealth of tradition and

history; Reiki, a Japanese energy healing technique; and Sound Healing,

a centuries-old Tibetan therapy used for meditation and balancing rituals.

The spa seeks to bring together time-tested wellness practices from

around the world, and in doing so, care for ourselves and Mother Earth.

A vital part of the wellness offerings are inspired by our native people

and customs. With Siwa, or knowledge, of the Cabecar tribes, we under-

stand that Costa Rican biodiversity and sustainability practices are

deeply rooted in our traditions. Our native people believe that we are

one with Mother Nature and that wellbeing comes from a balanced life

with respect for everything and everybody.

The best way to get to now Costa Rica is to get to know Costa Ricans, or

ticos. Through our partnership with Creciendo Juntos you can sponsor

a yoga class or paint schools, buy school supplies, meet and befriend

local families, and give back to the local community.

In order to honor Mother Nature, we recommend taking shorter

showers, buying local, rethinking plastic water bottles, and using

reusable shopping bags. Simple practices have meaningful impact.

Caribbean Happiness — 2.5 hrs

An exotic journey begins with a coco orange body scrub, followed by a pineapple wrap designed to supply vitamin C and stimulate skin regen-eration, detoxifying the body and preparing the skin to be kissed by the sun. Finally, an aromatherapy massage uses our special Four Seasons blended oil. The results are increased energy, as well as nourished and radiant skin.

Traditional Hammam Ritual — 2 hrs

Experience the joy of tradition. Begin with a Turkish hammam bath, deeply cleansing your body and clearing your mind, followed by a 60-minute massage of your choice. This indulgent ritual leaves you with a deep sense of clarity, renewal, and calm.

Sense of India — 90 min

This harmonising experience starts with an Abhyanga massage, infusing the body with specific oils chosen according to your body type. To complete this sacred moment for you, calming notes align your mind and body into a harmonious vibration with a 30 minute version of our Sound Healing ritual.

Balancing Head-to-Toe Experience — 75 min

A spa experience beginning from within starts with mindful meditation. Two therapists then work on your body simultaneously to achieve total balance. Experience the therapeutic benefits of our Papagayo Foot Treatment while receiving a Rise and Shine Brightening Facial to complete your head-to-toe experience.

Sound Healing — 60 min

Our bodies are formed by energy, using sound frequencies. Re-balance the body’s energy with the power of sound. Metal bowls are masterfully worked to produce a deep, penetrating, and relaxing sound, leaving in its wake a sense of peace and balance.

WELLNESS RITUALS

Shirodhara — 60 min

Shirodhara, our most meditative and relaxing treatment, is the ideal therapy for stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Prepare for your calming experience with a back and shoulder massage. A soothing stream of warm coconut milk is then poured over the forehead and onto the sixth chakra, your intuitive energetic center.

Reiki — 60 min

The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word Rei, which means Universal Life and Ki, which means Energy. The Reiki practitioner will apply a light touch during the session. If clients prefer not to be touched, please let us know, as it is also possible without reducing the effectiveness of the treatment. Reiki can assist to ease tension and stress and support the body to facilitate its own healing abilities.

Your couple’s spa experience begins with a relaxing sea-salt foot soak and includes a love tuning ritual, followed by a 90-minute massage in our signature couple’s suite. Enjoy relaxing facials specially tailored to your desired results. End your journey with side-by-side pedicures.

Pacifica Couple’s Suite Experience — 2 hrs

Allow our spa experts to select a treatment just for you. Enjoyed in an indulgent suite with private vanity, waterfall whirlpool, and dry sauna enhanced with romantic candlelight or views of the tree-lined beach. Your experience begins with a relaxing sea-salt foot soak followed by a customised 90-minute treatment and time to savour the spa amenities in seclusion.

Heart Focus Ritual — 90 min

A romantic balancing experience. Expert massage therapists perform a 30-minute relaxing sound healing ritual in harmony, followed by a 60-minute massage of your choice.

From our local region, the Pacific Clarifying Scrub uses rice along with honey and ground shells, which have a mild sedative effect on the nervous system. This body scrub provides softness and nutrition, leaving the skin smooth, hydrated, and luminous.

Turkish Hammam — 60 min

Enjoy a traditional, deeply cleansing Turkish Hammam. Firm exfoliation with a traditional cloth leaves skin glowing while a soothing foam bath transports your mind. The mind and body will be radiant and replenished.

Thai Stretching Massage — 90 min

This ancient form of massage, practiced for over 2,500 years , is performed on a large mat and uses a combination of stretching and Thai massage techniques to elongate the body and release tight muscles. For this stretching massage, which is performed without oils or lotions, guests wear their own loose clothing.

This mineral-infused treatment includes detailed finesse of the nails and cuticles, followed by a volcanic ash and aloe vera scrub to remove dull skin and increase circulation. The Fitness Centre at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica is accessible 24 hours a day and offers an array of daily fitness classes, as well as personal training sessions suitable to all fitness levels.

Attaining a wellness state of being is a cultivated practice and at our spa, we want to help you to be where you want to be. When we workout, we improve our body and mind connection.

Our wellness offerings promote physical and mental wellbeing, cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and balance.

HEALTH PROBLEMS AND COMFORT LEVEL

Please notify our receptionist before booking treatments if you are

pregnant, have allergies, high blood pressure, any physical ailments

or disabilities. This will allow our staff to provide the best possible

spa treatment or therapy for you. While enjoying your treatment, the

therapist will address your needs based on your personal assessment.

ATTIRE

The locker rooms are a clothing optional environment. There is no dress

code. We recommended enjoying body treatment or massages without

clothing; undergarments may be worn if preferred. We will provide

robes and slippers for your convenience.

We ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appoint-

ment time.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please notify the spa four hours prior to your appointment if you need

to cancel or reschedule. Appointments that are not cancelled must be
