All students in Years 8-12 are required to wear the Hills

Christian Secondary School uniform both at school and

while travelling to and from School.

During 2017, HCCS updated the Secondary Uniform and

Policy. There will be a 2 year phase out period on previous

uniform items (finishing at the end of the 2019 year), with

the exception of a 1 year phase out period on all socks

(finishing at the end of the 2018 school year).

If for any reason a child cannot comply with the Uniform

Policy, a written note must be sent to school. It is the

parents’ responsibility to rectify the problem as soon as

possible.

We believe the uniform encourages students to take pride

in their appearance, eliminates competition in what students

wear, and that it is the most economical way to outfit

students for their life at the School.

All uniform items except shoes are available from the

Uniform Shop.

Uniform Information

School Bags - Navy blue with school logo. Available

in three sizes from The Uniform Shop.

Scarves and Gloves - Navy scarf with HCCS logo

available; gloves must be navy (optional).

Hair - Shoulder length or longer hair should be tied

back. No hair should fall on the face or over the

eyes of a student. Haircuts should be no less than a

number 2 and hair should be of natural colour, neat,

clean and tidy. Students should have a clean-shaven

face.

Accessories - Hair clips, headbands, ribbons or

hairbands to be navy or plain colour to blend with

the hair or fabric to match uniform.

Jewellery - Students may wear a watch, a necklace

with a small cross around their necks, or silver/gold

single sleepers/studs in pierced ears in the lower

lobe. No additional jewellery permitted.

Makeup - It is our preference that students do not

wear make-up. Students who choose to wear

make-up may only wear light, natural coloured

foundation.

Shoes - Black leather lace-up shoes that can be

polished.

Exemption - If there is a medical reason for

a student not being able to comply with the

requirements in the uniform policy please notify the

Principal or Deputy Principal for an exemption.

Extreme Weather Conditions - Students are

permitted to wear full winter or summer uniform

at the parents discretion. They cannot be worn in

combination.

• Biz navy unisex shorts with HCCS logo

Hats - Navy blue ‘bucket’ hat with logo. The school has a

strict NO HAT - NO PLAY policy for all students. During

Term 1 and 4, and when the UV rating is over 3 during

Term 2 and 3, hats must be worn. Students are expected

to have a hat at school all year.

Sports Uniform

The summer uniform is worn during Terms 1 and 4.

The winter uniform is worn during Term 2 and 3.
