Introduction
The ANSYS Fluent software contains the broad physicalmodeling capabilities needed to model flow, turbulence, heattransfer, and reactions for diverse industrial applications. Itsadvanced solver technology provides fast, accurate CFDresults, flexible moving and deforming meshes, and superiorparallel scalability. New user models and extensivecustomization of existing ones can be implemented usinguserdefined functions.
All of these features results in one of the most comprehensivesoftware packages for CFD modeling available in the worldtoday.
This 2 days course is intended for those who have somepreliminary knowledge of ANSYS Fluent, and wanted to learnmore about the advanced features in the software.
The course will highlight how the software can be applied forvarious problems typically found in the Aerospace, Marine &Offshore, Petroleum and Chemical Industries. It will alsointroduce several multiphysics applications, such as couplingof CFD to structure for fluidstructure interaction, and unsteadydynamics model.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, the attendees would be able to useANSYS Fluent to model advanced problems specific to theirareas of interest, and verify the results obtained, as well as usethem to understand, diagnose and investigate their problems. They will also have the confidence to present or publish theirresults for peerreviews.
Topics Covered
• Advanced Features of ANSYS Fluent (settings, methods, parameters, schemes, options, tricks)
• Complicated flow, Timedependent flow
• Aerodynamics
• Flow with moving boundaries (e.g. flapping wings)
• Coupled fluidstructure problems
• Unsteady flow, Internal flow, phasechanged flow
• Flow with freesurface
• High speed and combustible flow
• Chemical reacting flow
Course Prerequisites
• Prior experience of ANSY Fluent and familiar with itsbasic features is required
• Preferably have attended an Introductory Course onANSYS DesignModeller & ANSYS Fluent
Who Should Attend
Beginner users (lecturers, students & engineers) who areplanning to use ANSYS Fluent for more in depth analyticalworks in Aerospace, Marine & Offshore, Petroleum andChemical Industries
