I had no idea that at the age of 24 I would have my MBA, or be working for a Fortune 500 company. Over the last few years I have grown so much, and I know that I still have so much further to go. I have realized that even though bad things happen to good people, working hard will always yield good results. The saying "If it is to be, it is up to me" by Thomas Benner Smith is a statement that I have molded my life around and firmly believe that if you want something you have to be disciplined enough to do whatever it takes to make it happen. After graduating from high school I knew that I needed to continue my education, and in college I had the priviledge to play basketball, on a full ride scholarship at the division 1 level; this instilled in me a can- do attitude along with a tenacious hard-work mentality. These learned skills along with my leadership qualities led to me being named a team captain my senior year by my teammates and coaches. Upon graduation, I still felt like there was more for me to learn, so I went back to obtain my MBA concentrated in marketing, it was a challenge that I accepted head on. That brings us to the present; right now I am a junior buyer intern/cost model analyst with FCA, I deal with buyers and suppliers on a daily basis and have found significant cost savings with the regression analysis skills that I use in my current role. I work on teams with other interns as well as senior buyers in order to reach common savings targets and deadlines. I think that my experience as an athlete has helped me in this aspect; being with a group of people that are vying for a common goal has been something that I have done my entire life, and in the work force it is no different. Whats next? I plan on relocating to California in order to enhance the skills I have, learn new ones, and network with as many people as I can! I am looking for a marketing, brand management, brand integration, or a buyer position. Thanks for reading!
