Introducing the revolutionary RoboSpot follow spot system, a device that allows follow spot operators to remotely control up to 12 fi xtures simultaneously without the safety concerns and impracticality of placing personnel at the top venues such as stadiums, indoor arenas, concert halls, theatres, TV and fi lm sets. Stunning visual displays are now possible with as many as 12 perfectly synchronised fi xtures following a performer across the stage.

With the RoboSpot follow spot system it is no longer necessary to send operators into the rafters of venues to operate heavy and cumbersome traditional follow spot fi xtures that take up valuable space in the world’s live entertainment venues. Operators can now safely control multiple fi xtures such as the BMFL range of products (exc. BMFL Wash), T1 Profi le, T1 Profi le FS, DL7S, DL4S, iPointe, MegaPointe and Pointe from any location within the venue, reducing set-up times and operating costs.

The Robe RoboSpot system features a BaseStation with a large 15.6-inch HD touch screen for the operator to observe the performance from a “fi rst person” viewpoint and a full range of hand controls for operating the fi xtures such as pan, tilt, intensity, focus, faders and many others, all of which are fully customisable for the operator’s benefi t. The screen receives the live video feed from the RoboSpot MotionCamera or from the fi xture-mounted RoboSpot camera and the operator’s commands are instantly transferred to the luminaires via DMX control with no lag for perfect motion tracking across the stage.

Extra controls are available through the touch screen display as well as four programmable jog-wheels with an additional 10 fully confi gurable buttons for a truly customised user experience. The remote lighting desk still retains control of the internal features of the fi xtures such as light intensity and colour. All these features combine to make RoboSpot an innovative follow spot system.

Utilizing the RoboSpot system, operators can now safely and conveniently control multiple fi xtures like Robe‘s BMFL range of products (exc. BMFL Wash), T1 Profi le, T1 Profi le FS, DL7S, DL4S, iPointe, MegaPointe and Pointes from any location within the venue, also reducing set-up times and operational costs.

The RoboSpot BaseStation has a large 15.6-inch HD touch screen display, so the operator observes the performance space from a “fi rst person” perspective – like most video games.

A live video picture relays visual and positional information – of the artist / cast - from MotionCamera/s that are either integral to the fi xture itself or rigged adjacent to each individual fi xture on the rig that is being used for remote follow spotting.

The operator has full control of the remote spotted fi xture using the BaseStation handles and two programmable faders which can tweak parameters like dimmer or iris for additional effects.

The operator’s commands are instantly transferred to the luminaires via DMX signal with no lag … so, they can perfectly motion track the artist across the stage or performance area.

Extra control over the remote follow spot can be achieved via the Base Station touch screen display and four programmable jog wheels which have 10 additional button settings ... for a truly customisable experience.

The remote lighting desk can still control all the internal features of the follow spot units such as light intensity and colours.

The BMFLTM FollowSpot

Created specifi cally for follow spot operation, this custom modifi ed version of BMFL comes with specifi c features to provide both motorised movement and manual operation with follow spot handles. Based on the powerful BMFL WashBeam it blasts beams of extra bright output and has an abundance of great features. The BMFL FollowSpot takes advantage of its wide 160 mm front lens and a high CRI 1700 W lamp. With a custom light source designed for Robe it produces an astounding 251.000 lux at 5 metres and has a wide zoom range of 5° to 45° with precise focusing.

Manually or remotely controllable features include smooth color mixing and CTO fl ags, two color wheels, multiple variable frost fi lters, focus, zoom and quick pulsing iris. Follow spot operation can be extended by using LightMaster handles - an optional accessory. The BMFL FollowSpot is pre-wired for installation of the digital camera on the head and is connected with the new RoboSpot base station for off-stage follow spot operation…

The BMFLTM FollowSpot LT – A compact, affordable solution for the larger arena

Further adding to the ground breaking RoboSpot system, the FollowSpot LT is designed for the larger venue that requires a longer throw distance, tighter beam and greater output power. The LT is the same size and weight as the standard BMFL FollowSpot, which is substantially smaller than other products of similar power. The proprietary optical design provides a 4:1 zoom ratio (2° to 8°) and an output exceeding 455.000 lux at 5 metres.

Like the standard BMFL FollowSpot, the LT can be operated as a manual, stand-alone follow spot using the Robe LightMaster-Side and LightMaster-Rear control kits. Similarly, the LT can be operated remotely using the Robe RoboSpot MDC remote follow spot system and is pre-wired for the Digital Camera. Packed with all the features you would expect from a BMFLseries product, including, imperceptible colour mixing, fi xed colour fi lters, 6.000 K native colour temperature, Cri>92, Variable CTO to 2.700 & CTB to 9.000 K, fi xed & variable frost fi lters, focus, zoom and a fast iris.

T1. The new ONE and only fi xture you need for theatre, television and touring and now with the option to be connected to the Robe innovative RoboSpot system.

The T1 Profi le FollowSpot is equipped with the digital camera on the head and can be connected with the RoboSpot BaseStation for off-stage follow spot operation.

Specifi cally designed to fulfi l the challenging requirements of these diverse applications within one comprehensive fi xture. The new revolutionary MSL™ (Multi-Spectral Light) LED engi-ne’s output reaches 10.075 lumens. It’s impressively bright. T1 Profi le is full of theatrical subtlety. With CMY colour control, DataSwatch™ fi lters containing a selection of pre-programmed colours via the new generation RCC™ (Robe Colour Calibration) algorithm and a wide ranging 2.700K to 8.000K CCT control, all variations of colour are possible for even the most deman-ding designers. The precise needs of theatrical dimming are catered to with our super smooth Robe 18-bit dimming system. In addition, the high CRI of 90+ provides natural skin tones.

For television work, we have included a plus and minus green channel and Cpulse™ special fl icker-free management for all vision systems such as HD and UHD cameras. All this combi-ned with our crisp framing shutter system, full zoom range of 0,5° and 10° variable frosts, specially designed breakup and aerial gobos, animation wheel and prism, gives you total control of your designs in theatre, television and touring.
