All machines are computer controlled to ensure precision operations, and come with built-in maintenance and diagnostics features. A 250 KVA generator has been installed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply, vital in guaranteeing the quality of the end product. An elaborate arrangement for follow-up visits has been
worked out with the principals to ensure that the machinery is always maintained at optimum performance conditions.
We have made sure to have experts from Michelin, France, to provide training and work closely with the local staff in Kenya, ensuring a well-trained and capable staff. The training received by the team guarantees independent working of the Kenya team, and more importantly, of continued consistency of quality production. Test conducted on trial runs have produced remarkable results and leave no doubt about the equipment and technical expertise at the plant.
RECAMIC- MICHELIN RETREAD
TECHNOLOGIES
Recamic is a Cold Process that uses Precured Michelin Treads of the required pattern cut to exact size as per specific requirement. In addition, this process can be done on any brand or type of tyre casing!
Michelin assures that provided a casing is still good condition, Recamic retreaded tyres are just as good as New Michelin
Tyres.
WHAT DOES THE RECAMIC PROCESS ENTAIL?Just as a doctor makes a diagnosis before treating his patients, likewise, in the Recamic process, a full diagnosis of the tyre is carried out to determine the extent of damage before the retreading and the final ‘Curing’ attained.
INTRODUCING RECAMIC
Recamic is the name given to Michelin’s Cold Process Technology for retreading Tyres. Michelin, a name synonymous with Tyres & warranting no introduction, manufactured its first retreaded tyre in 1920, and ever since, Michelin has continued to perfect this technology. The first Recamic plant was set up in Geneva, Switzerland in 1993.
Today, there are over 70 Recamic Plants worldwide, covering Europe, Asia, America, Austrial & the Middle East. The plant in Kenya is the fourth in Africa.
Feeling the need to initiate a venture that would boost the economic status of the country by creating employment opportunities, Kingsway TyrExpert Centre, in collaboration with Michelin, set up the Recamic Plant in Nairobi, Kenya in 2001. Following a higher market need in 2010, a bigger capacity retread plant was established. Combining state-of-the-art machinery with highly skilled manpower in an ultra-modern plant, the technology will enable us to provide excellent quality retreaded Tyres & related services to our customers. And that too at an affordable rate!
