Kaya is a global online learning platform for the humanitarian sector, bought to you by the Humanitarian Leadership Academy. Kaya will train the next generation of humanitarian leaders and responders, especially those located in vulnerable crisis affected countries and communities. Anyone can access, and anyone can contribute.

In the next five years, we are opening ten Centres in vulnerable countries. The Centres will have bespoke learning programmes targeted for the needs of that country or region, supported by blended learning to include face-to-face training and mentoring support.

Kaya will facilitate partnership opportunities with the corporate sector, learning professionals, academia, international institutions, governments and NGOs from across the globe to integrate their learning and technologies for individuals and organisations.

Kaya will build a global network of expertise that reaches people on the ground where the learning tools are most needed. It will integrate local learning to enable connected and resilient communities.

• If you are a volunteer or a professional humanitarian leader, Kaya has a bespoke professional development pathway with global accreditation to support you throughout your career.

• Centres will develop bespoke learning on Kaya to suit the needs specific to each region or country, from flood defense in the Philippines to drought resistance in Africa – from information to support you in the midst of a disaster to post-disaster recovery.

• Learning content will be shared from the grassroots upwards, to the frontline and senior leaders – sharing and learning from each others experience.

• Kaya will enable interactions and conversations across the humanitarian sector, breaking down barriers to continuously share experiences.

By supporting people at the grassroots level, the Academy will enable them to be better prepared for a disaster, respond quicker and to have increased resilience after a crisis.

By working in collaboration, the Academy is building a network of expertise that will be shared and utilised immediately when a disaster strikes. Kaya will enable people to continuously share their experiences for the benefit of the humanitarian sector.
