Case Study – Ms D, HaringeyHeard about LEAP through her landlord
Problems with draughts, damp, mould and high heating costs
Low income, long term health conditions with a disabled child
LEAP Home Energy Assessor installed door and letterbox draught excluders, radiator reflector panels and LED light bulbs , saving £30/year
Assessor also helped Ms D move from prepay energy meters to credit meters
Post visit income maximisation assistance identified £10,567 of unclaimed benefits which the resident is now receiving
LEAP is proving very popular with households and delivering them significant benefits
“I was really pleased with the advice that the LEAP Home Energy Advisor gave. Several of my neighbours have switched energy tariffs and saved on their fuel bills. We’ve all been delighted with the service” Mr Reed, Peterborough.
“I wanted to thank you for coming to my home yesterday. The draught proofing and light bulbs are a great help. I had no idea that this help, advice and caring was available. Please pass on my thanks to Hannah.” Mrs Scott, Enfield.
“I have had excellent feedback from clients I’ve referred to you.The energy saving measures you are fitting will make a real difference by themselves, but energy tariff switching, ECO measures and income maximisation support are also starting to put much larger sums of money into the pockets of some of our hardest pressed households.”Jan Cottrell, Peterborough Wellbeing Service, Peterborough Council for Voluntary Services.
