UPDATE

GOOD FOOD GUIDES FOR FAIRFAX.

The order involves 6 titles encompassing Good Food, Café & Bar Guides with a total of 210,000 books ata value of $350,000.

A key initative we undertook to enable us to compete was to convince the client to amend the trim size for the Café and Bar Guides to enable us to print on a larger sheet size and pass on a price advantage.

INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTS.

A new category of print product has been intro-duced in Singapore with OPUS securing acatalogue account worth $250,000. An Australian owned company with a major footprint in theAutomotive Industry in supplying lighting & electrical parts, until now they have always printed their catalogues

in Australia but needed to reduce costs and subsequently sought bids from Asianproducers.

OPUS won the busi-ness as we can manage the relationship locally while saving money by producing in our lower cost based facility in Singapore – a win win!

OPUS CAN.

OPUS Group was selected to produce the material for the Commonwealth Bank’s recent CAN’T / CAN outdoor advertising campaign.

The campaign had two phases, the initial teaser phase, which was launched on Sunday 20 May with a series of outdoor advertisements displaying the simple yet powerful message

- CAN’T, but with no identification of the Commonwealth Bank.A week later theCommonwealth Bankreplaced the ‘T’ in CAN’T with its diamond logo on all the advertising.

Nigel Spicer, General Manager of CactusImaging said it had been a significant con-tract for OPUS Group, with over 16,600m2

produced in thiscampaign. “Given the teaser phase of the campaign, we had to sign a confidentiality agreement, so there was an element of trust in our involvement with the client.”

Mr Spicer said,“Our team produced outstanding work in terms of colour and accuracy on creative executions and we had excellent feedbackfrom our client”.

OPUS HAS HAD A NUMBER OF WINS IN RECENT MONTHS.

One of our major clients is now using our print-on-demand technology so they can have books faster into stores to meet the instant gratification of consumers and take advantage of the sudden popularity of some titles.

Faster dispatch and lower holding costs are a by-product of the new technology that OPUS now has with the HP ink jet machinery and other digital equipment.

MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT.

Omnigraphics NZ has won a multi-million dollar contract to

supply Hypermedia Group, a specialistin-store media company in New Zealand.

Omnigraphics has become the production partner of Hypermedia Group which represents 159 Countdown Supermarket stores within New Zealand and manages everything from floor graphics and promotional shelf advertising through to in-store radio and product demonstrations.

COMBINING OUR SINGAPOREAND AUSTRALIAN STRENGTH.

OPUS offers the best of ‘on’ or ‘off’ shore. Our strong global relationships with most of the world’s largest publishers place OPUS in a unique position to deliver content when and where it is required.

Recently Wiley Australia, a leading educational publisher, produced with us a range of products in our Singapore facility, an opportunity gained via our strong Australian relationship.

Whilst Singapore can produce quickly and efficiently, when time is at a premium, our Australian basedfacilities are an important part ofour solution.

With one of our major strategic clients, Oxford University Press(OUP) we recently produced over $1 million of new school curriculum titles. This allowed OUP a speed to market advantage backed by the OPUS guaranteeof on time, in full delivery.

OPUS’ new HP Onyx digital ink jet production line is a first for Australia.

Commissioned in March, the machine is the most sophisticated operating in Australia and is able to produce digitally short and long run books, fully bound and finished ready for distribution. The new machine will be able to service customers requiring short runs, printing on demand and just in time delivery. This will allow customers to save on warehousing costs and to manage

their supply /demand /obsolescence equation more cost effectively.Pressing the ‘green button’ on Onyx, in March was the Federal Industry and Innovation Minister Kate Lundy.

The system was given the name Onyx after the precious stone for a good reason, as it represents renewed value in the publishing supply chain at a time when traditional dynamics of supply and demand in the book industry are undergoing massive transformation.

The way printed books are purchased today is undergoing a revolution. Traditional book publishers are now being challenged by the likes of Apple, Google and Amazon, and the Onyx technology is a great way for OPUS to successfully competeto meet consumer demand.

OPUS has invested $35 million in new capital equipment over the past seven years.
