Cost of Living Guide2010/2011The cost of living in Hull and Scarborough is lower than almost anywhere in Britain (indeed, some
3040% less than in London) and significantly lower than in comparable university cities, making
living costs more affordable. The location of our campus residences means that daily travelling costsare low (or non-existent), and that shopping for food, clothes and other everyday items is within
easy walking distance.

Personal ExpenditureThe UK Border Agency requirement is that you have 600 per month available for your
accommodation, local travel, food, entertainment, etc. This is in addition to the funds you have for
your tuition fees. 600 per month will be sufficient to cover your expenses as detailed below.

Bringingyour family to the UKThe UK Border Agency requirement is 533 per dependent for each calendar month of the students
course and up to a maximum of nine months (or for the length of their stay if its shorter than the
length of the students course). Please budget for around 200 per year for each child, for school
uniform, school activities, etc. For children over the age of 11, costs may be higher.
