What do you think about teenagers in Banstead? The way they behave towards people? For this question, I received a rather unstable neutral response. However, this links to the question ‘Do you think Banstead is a suitable habitat for teenagers?’ where he states that he hardly sees any teenagers wondering around due to the lack of activities available for them. This could be the reason for his neutral statement as you don’t hear much about them and majority tend to stay out of the region and hang around in places like Sutton, Croydon, Epsom etc. Do you think discrimination in Banstead is a growing topic? 50/50 response from my interviewee as he thinks that based on what he has witnessed it seems to be a very low profiled topic especially in Banstead. But as he later adds there is a chance of it taking place but from his perspective it’s not exactly visible. Do you feel as if adults and the elderly still adhere to the old principles? Again another 50/50 response and it is true that majority of the elderly have come to accept the fact that its normal and there isn’t anything bad about a diverse community. Though, some are very much in touch with the old principles where they look at them as individuals lower down in the hierarchy. Would you agree that Banstead is a diverse region? I had a positive response from my interviewee and claims that he has been to Banstead several times and it has been progressing over the years. The fact that he says ‘every kindproves that there is a mixture of all races which further solidifies the fact that it is a multicultural community. However, this opposes to my idea as I am expecting for the opposite response and add to my additional findings from my research and based on statistics.

Do you think discrimination in Banstead is a growing topic?50/50 response from my interviewee as he thinks that based on what he has witnessed it seems to be a very low profiled topic especially in Banstead.

Would you agree that Banstead is a diverse region?I had a positive response from my interviewee and claims that he has been to Banstead several times and it has been progressing over the years. The fact that he says ‘every kind’ proves that there is a mixture of all races which further solidifies the fact that it is a multicultural community. However, this opposes to my idea as I am expecting for the opposite response and add to my additional findings from my research and based on statistics.

What do you think about discrimination within teenagers in Banstead?

My interviewee’s response is that he hasn’t seen it take place ‘first hand, but I could imagine it happening’. Personally, I believe that discrimination happens everywhere however in some cases it isn’t that serious or taken notice of. It is very natural as the age itself is a stage they tend to question themselves as well as others, learning the right and wrongs, and mostly being influenced by other individuals or the environment they live in.

Have you ever made any discriminating remarks to an individual purposely?

Even though my interviewee claims to not have made any discriminating remarks, I cannot fully justify if he might be saying the truth and further doesn’t benefit for my research as I need honest truthful answers; even if he has. What could be changed in order to prevent   discrimination from

taking place in Banstead?A straightforward answer ‘maybe the council could put more like strict policies towards it’. From his response, I can sense that he is aware of this particular subject and that it takes place in our day to day lives but we aren’t fully aware of this until we encounter a similar situation.
