• Professionalism

• Your interest in the job being offered

• How you would fit into the job and company (skills and personality)

Dress Appropriately

• You can’t overdress for a job interview.

• Remember to dress appropriately means dressing professionally not your homecoming dress or Friday night outfit.

• No large jewelry, loud colors or too much make up.

Practice your Handshake

• Good firm handshake (not too firm and not too limp)

• Make eye contact.

• Is the opportunity to give the interviewer a summary of your career, ability and goals – your soft and hard skills.

• This is NOT a license to tell your life story.

Assessing good and bad points

• Many interviewers will ask you to share your weaknesses and strengths.

• Don’t use personality or character flaws.

• Focus on areas to be worked on over time.

5 things to remember in an interview:

1- Stand up and greet the interviewer.

2- Don’t wear too much cologne or perfume.

3- Bring a copy of your resume and cover letter.

4- Ask interviewer for their business card.5- Turn off cell phone. If it goes off apologize and

turn off immediately.
