The purpose of this research is to help us promote hip hop dancing. We really appreciate you taking the time to talk with us. It will help us better understand the needs of a hip hop dancer. I’d like you to think back to when you first started dancing. Image this timeline as the first hip hop dance you’ve ever learned or performed. What are the beginning and end points? Could you please write down a phrase for each? (Ask them to write down phrases. Make sure they narrate decisions.)
