Usually, due to the rule of thirds,

the interviewee is never positioned in the centre of the screen. He/she us

conventionally sat to the side of the screen during the interview.

There is usually graphic animation incorporated into the

interview that is relevant to the topic. For this documentary during the

interviews animated backgrounds are included of

oceans which relate to the subject being discussed. This allows

the interview to follow the Mis En Scene

During an interview there is no direct mode of addresstowards the camera. The interviewee is discussing/answering questions facing the interviewer. This is a convention.

The questions are usually edited out for the final product.

The use of A-roll and B-roll is

usually incorporated into interviews when making cuts to allow the flow of

the clip to be seamless and jump cuts cant be seen visually. For

example the A-roll footage would be the interview and then it would cutaway into B-roll footage like an animation of some sort.
