INTRODUCTION: An internship is an opportunity to apply the knowledge has gained from your academic studies in a practical, workplace setting. In the other word an internship is any career-related experience you are involved in. It mightbe a summer job, a semester-long class assignment, or a community service project.Whatever the experience, if you are gaining knowledge and developing skills which you canapply to your future career, it can be considered an internship. And if you “play your cardsright”, your internship could potentially turn into a successful career. By treating yourinternship like a professional “job”, you can gain experience, make connections, and have anadvantage over other candidates when it comes time to apply for a full-time position. Aninternship learning goals may include:

Academic learning:Applying knowledge learned in the classroom to the workplace.

Career development:Gaining knowledge of the qualifications and duties of a position and exploring interest in a particular field.

Skill development:Gaining an understanding of the skills and knowledge required in the workplace.

Personal development:Gaining decision-making skills, critical thinking skills, increased confidence and self-esteem.

IMPORTANCE OF INTERNSHIP: Internships are known for giving students the opportunity to apply their knowledge inreal world environments. At the same time, they will also develop skills which will help themperform better at their job. One problem commonly cited by employers is that manygraduates do not have the practical skills necessary to excel in the job market. They also feel that the professionalism of students is less than it should be. Even though there are a largenumber of theories on how to encourage employees and increase profits, it is apparent thatenhanced levels of education are not enough to prepare students for a real world environment.Being able to improve these weaknesses will make graduates much more effective in theircareers. The vast majority of students in this study had high to above average scores. Thestudents also demonstrated enhanced abilities in the areas of oral communicationand leadership skills. The goals of the study were largely successful. If more colleges andeducational programs can encourage their students to take internships, it is likely that manyof their graduates would have the skills necessary to succeed. Setting up the right program foremployees can be a challenging process. The students who participated in internshipsperformed much better than students who graduated from the program without going intointernships. This is evidence that education is not enough to allow graduates to perform at ahigher level. In the real world environment, analytical skills are not enough. Students musthave both interpersonal and leadership abilities. While most colleges are good at teachinganalytical skills, they are lacking when it comes to other characteristics. By effectively usinginternships, students will increase their skills and make them valuable in the job market.

It seemed there I am passing through a new village, meeting at every man and there is some think to be remembered of every man. At the first step of my learning I learnt how to maintain acquisition section. Then I learn how to register and accession new books. To register the new books the library authority uses two different kinds of style. It is very interesting and quite amazing that university authority control and maintained such huge amount of books in a systematic and technical manner. Apart from these library activities I develop myself in communication. Not only in terms of talk base but also in terms of hospitality and dealing with the people. In Aligarh Muslim University Maulana Azad Library are given a fantastic and excellent service to the students. They accept feedbacks from the users by e-

mail and also directly. I have also learned there how to reply the student effectively. As it is a part of good relationship with students. Activities Along With Library Staffs: The staffs of Maulana Azad Library are totally friendly and helpful. They help me more than I expected. All the requirements of my personal and professional life during that training period have been fulfilled by them. They dint only teach me as a student but they proved that proved that “friendly at the great teachers”. Because they dealt with me just like as I am there colleague.

CONCLUSION: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is the second largest library in Asia. Aligarh Muslim University has been playing a vital role in academic, socio‐economic, political and cultural affairs. It gears up to educate the lion share of population of the country. AMU caters to the need of all the teachers, researchers and students of the university. So, I think that, it is most essential to develop the library at any cost. It takes the opportunity to modernize its services for its learned users. To be a complete man one has to acquire knowledge. Knowledge comes from book and library is a world of knowledge, which is full of books. Though the process of internship was not so long, yet I have learnt lost of think regarding library related activities. It is a burning example for better leadership environment. It not only trays the students, but also encourage them to do great works.
