D-B11 Special reinforcement against occasionally operation in light sea ice as it appears in Danish waters, in excess of DMA and/or Class requirements, e.g. including hull and steering gear, propeller and propeller shaft and/or other area as relevant.

Please inform design and type of the ice strengthening.

D-B12 Good and robust lining in working and accommodation area e.g. by glass cloth or thin steel plate or equivalent type.

D-B13 Good possibility for sectioning of hot water heat tracing e.g. by several section valves or similar in case of damages and repairs.Residual heat from engines to be utilized best possible.

D-B14 Where heat tracing for de-icing is electrical the installation to be safe, and controllable and easy to repair e.g. by low voltage and divided in sections with manual and temperature control or similar.

D-B15 Simple configuration of auxiliary systems e.g. by build-on pumps, coolers and generators on propulsion engines or other configuration giving similar effect.

D-B16 Good isolation of superstructure toward hull and flexible mount of machinery or similar design

solution achieving lowest possible noise level and harmful vibrations in wheelhouse and working areas.

D-B17 Bunker station and sewage tank discharge on deck with safe and easy access, and fuel line with high degree of redundancy and safety e.g. by cross-over line, dual filters and fixed fuel return connection.

D-B18 Lowest possible engines exhaust external noise level with less risk of creating backpressure not in accordance with engines specifications.

Good means of preventing water ingress into exhaust system, and positioned best possible to prevent fumes into ventilation intake and other openings or solution achieving similar effect.

D-B19 Cooling water system with high degree of redundancy, low risk of corrosion, blocking of seawater inlet by ice, ingress of dirt and fouling, and with high water intake capacity, to load both engines 50% each or more, on one sea connection only.

Following or similar solution will be considered to contribute positively to the requirement:More than one seawater connections having size twice the requirements, heat exchangers to fresh water system, double strainers capacity, valves and pipes of design and material with high corrosion and cavitation resistance, e.g. of bronze CuNiFe or other Class approved metals as applicable and e.g. with extended wall thickness and nominal schedule.

Good access and easy replacement of the cooling water system e.g. by sectioning of pipes and fitting type easy for assembling.

Please note that this Class B requirement is of high importance to DanPilot. At the assessment of the sub-criterion “Design” this Class B requirement will therefore be considered higher than the rest of the Class B requirements regarding this sub-criterion.

D-B20 Good and reliable cooling water supply for air condition unit with best possible arrangement avoiding stripping / back flush of cooling water and/or “false air” intake due to ship motion when boat doing speed.

D-B21 Alternators, inverters, and fuses with 30% overcapacity or more relative to highest load, and with high ability to supply service system including AC system at least at idle speed both engines or better.

D-B22 Well and safe protected shore connection according to DanPilot standard type plug CEE 3P 32A 400 VAC, with safe and easy access on deck e.g. in a lockable box with indication light.

Safe shore connection with adequate power to supply heating, alarms, and lights and if possible ventilation of wheelhouse or more.

D-B23 Safe and adequate redundant electric power supply system with high degree of overcapacity and by high-end quality equipment and safe installation.

Following or similar solution or additional similar

features will be considered to contribute positively to the requirements:

24 VDC to 230 VAC true sinus converter with good overcapacity and RCD switchboard

two-channel 24 VDC chargers for at least the starting and service batteries

battery power installation, with growth potential of 10% or more relative to installed capacity

interchangeable load distribution in 24 VDC and 230 VAC switchboard

power cables of halogen free type or similar

electric components of proven maritime quality to IEC standard

exterior components of class IP68 protection or better.

corrosion free pipes or trays for installing cables of aluminium or stainless steel

bulkhead penetrations of flexible size sealing system with 10% or more overcapacity

Please inform design solution and capacities considered.
