After going back to school, I took any computer science courses I could fit into my schedule. When I graduate in May, I will be pursuing a full-time position as a software engineer. I’m a mechanical engineering student and

had an internship in systems. While on an

internal research and development project last

year, my tasks led me to learn HTML, CSS and

JavaScript, and I became interested in the software

side of my program. After going back to school,

Our Pittsfield LocationGeneral Dynamics Missions Systems is a defense

contractor with over 9,000 employees world-wide.

Specifically in Pittsfield, we have over 1100 employees

and our primary customers are the US Navy and US Air

Force. We have 50 years of experience in the design,

production, installation, and sustainment of strategic

nuclear weapon systems. We provide full life cycle

weapon system support and have proven performance in

guidance, weapon sys-tem command and control, missile

support systems, open architecture, and nuclear weapon

security.

The largest programs that our employees support are:

� Littoral Combat Ship: We help design, build, and

support hardware and software for this new class of

Navy ships.

� Ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear (SSBN): We

fully support the current fleet of ballistic nuclear

subma-rines and incrementally modernize the system.

� Ohio Class Replacement: We are working to design

the new US ballistic nuclear submarine fleet, that will

be fielded through 2084.

� Weapon Control System: We support the weapon

control for the Virginia Class submarines.

� Internal Research and Development: We fund new

projects each year and perform cutting edge research

to benefit our customers’ missions.
