Theseobjects contain embedded technology to interact withinternal states or the external environment. 4. Internet Of Things Contd..In the future, digital sensing, communication, andprocessing capabilities will be ubiquitously embeddedinto everyday objects, turning them into the Internet ofThings (IoT). Smart devices will collect data, relay theinformation or context to each other, and process theinformation collaboratively. 5. Internet Of Things Contd..An IoT system is a network of networks where,typically, a massive number ofobjects/things/sensors/devices are connected throughcommunications and information infrastructure toprovide value-added services via intelligent dataprocessing and management for different applications. 6. Smart Home NetworkThe smart home as using computer, network andcomprehensive wiring technology to integrate varioussubsystems related to daily life into one system throughthe household information management platform. 9. Technology for Smart Home1. Wired ModeAll the control signals are transferred by wired mode andthe signal wires in controlling end are too many to checkwhen problems happened. This mode has lots ofprominent disadvantages such as complex cabling, highworkload, high-cost, difficult to maintenance and difficultto build network. 10. Contd..2.Wireless ModeThe wireless system applied to Smart home should havethe following characteristics:1) low power consumption2) Stabilization3) easy to expand gridAs for the transmission speed, it is obvious not the keypoint for this application. 11. Contd..Here are several wireless modes for smart home as below:Bluetooth:Bluetooth is kind of wireless technology supportingequipments short distances communication (in the range of10 meters).While, this communication distance is too shortand this communication mode is the point-to-point, so thiskind of technology cant meet the requirements for Smarthome. 12. Contd..WIFI:WIFI is kind of short distance transmission technologywhich supports the radio signals within several hundredsmeters to connect with the Internet. The biggest feature ofWIFI is that it is very easy for people to access the Internetat any time and any where. 13. Contd..ZigBee / SmartRoom:ZigBee / SmartRoom is based on the IEEE 802.15.Because IEEE only deals with the protocol of MAC layerand physical layer, ZigBee/SmartRoom Alliance expandthe IEEE and standardize the network layer protocol andAPI.ZigBee / SmartRoom is a new wireless network techniquewith short range and low -power consumption, and itmainly applies to short distance communication. 14. Smart Home Network Protocol6LowPAN:6LowPAN is a networking technologythat allows IPv6 packets to be carried efficientlywithin small link layer frames such as those used byIEEE 802.15.4. 15. 6LowPAN OverviewIt is desirable to use IP to communicate with smalldevices.Widely deployed IPv6's addressing space is large, allowing even smalldevices to have a real-world routable IPv6 address. 16.
