Internet Information
The Internet cannot always be a trusted source of information for several reasons. First of all, there are some websites which could be edited by anyone or show papers without a scientific support. In fact, Wikipedia, Slide Share, Scribd, and Monografias are websites that have thousands and thousands of workshops with the editing option enable. For example, it could contain a PDF file named Qumica, but instead of talking about chemistry it may talks about soccer. Second, the most of people that write on internet do not need any kind of education, so people could write about anything according to their experience without taking in consideration the scientific studies. For example, the website Monografias has around 500 000 of accounts and at least the 90% of those are from people who have uploaded files without an appropriate researching. Finally, computers have allowed us the access to a huge amount of information very quickly and easily. Although Google is known as the best web search engine and shows us webpages according to what we are looking for, it is difficult to decide which webpage can be trusted and which cannot. As an example, if we look for information about cars Google is going to show about one billion of results. In conclusion, Internet has many information about any topic, but researchers must be able to distinguish between what can be trusted and what is just junk information.
