FAQ How is my Internet Access Quota UpdatedInternet plans will be automatically reset at the beginning of the new

calendar month to refresh available quota for all students and staff, unless on the “Unlimited” package in which case there are no quota restrictions on download. This means regardless of how much quota you have used, your quota will be reset to reflect your plan at the beginning of each calendar month.

FAQ What happens if I exceed my quota allocationDuring the course of a calendar month the following process will occur:If less than 80% of your quota is used during a calendar month than at the

beginning of each new calendar month, quota will simply be refreshed back to your default plan.

If 80% of your quota is reached during a calendar month, you will receive an email advising you have reached 80% of your quota, how much quota your have remaining, and how many days till reset at the end of the month. This email will also advise you that at 100% usage your download will be rate shaped, this may affect the speed at which you can download. The email will contain a referral to the IT&TS Helpdesk and a link to the IAS website for further information. At the beginning of the new month, the quota will be refreshed back to your default package.

FAQ How can I request additional quotaStudent – Students may request additional quota in two ways:By contacting the Lismore IT&TS Heldesk and requesting a one off 50Mb

quota increase for the relevant calendar month. If a student requests more than 50Mb or requests 50Mb for a second time in the calendar month they will be referred to their Delegate or by contacting their delegate and requesting to be placed into an increased quota package.

Staff – Staff may request additional quota by contacting their delegate and requesting either a one-off additional quota amount or to be transferred to larger quota plan. The delegate will have responsibility to authorise this request and contact IT&TS via email which will generate a HEAT call requesting the change. In the event that a Staff member is unable to contact their delegate within a reasonable timeframe, IT&TS can make a temporary adjustment until such time that a delegate is contactable by the staff member.

IT&TS will be cutover to IAS in the very near future and piloted to test stability.

Next stages will follow the rollout plan and include Lismore labs, wireless and modems, residential, staff buildings and other

Tweed CHEC and Sydney to follow based on Lismore progress
