Presentation of the EPHEC

o EPHEC stands for “Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes Commerciales” (Ephec University of Applied Sciences)

o The main implantation of our University is located in Brussels


The EPHEC organisation : 10 departments

o A department = degree programme on a campus

o From 200 to 500 students in a departmento A common team: one head, one student

coordinator, one secretary, full-time or part-time lecturers

o Teaching in classes of 20 to 50 studentso Each group has a head teacher and an

allotted classroom


The pedagogical approach at EPHEC

A practical approach and a close link with companies :o Practical assignments (sometimes commissioned by companies)o Permanent teaching staff often with previous business experienceo Associated lecturers from the business world

Students do 2 internships :o 3 weeks between Year 1 and Year 2o 14 weeks in Semester 6 (in Belgium or abroad)


Bachelor Degrees at the EPHEC : 3 years to become a junior

professionalo 1st year : discovering the groundings in each field of

studyo 2nd year : deeper knowledge of the field of study&

practical projects integrating several aspects of the future job

o 3rd year : specialisation courses & full semester internship

o Interactive classes and multidisciplinary assignments


How international is the EPHEC?

o EPHEC has over 50 Erasmus partnerso EPHEC has relationships with institutions in

France, Switzerland, Canada and Russiao EPHEC sends students for internships in more

than 30 countrieso EPHEC is a member of several European or

international associations (BUSINET, EFCCE, CAROLUS MAGNUS, ISBE ...)

o EPHEC, as a member of the International week programme, sends students to partner schools and organizes an International week
