Using your phone while on a cruise ship

Only Cruise ship packages cover usage while on board an eligible cruise ship. AT&T Passport and International Day Pass DO NOT cover cruise ship usage.

If you do not have a Cruise ship package, you will be charged pay-per-use (PPU) rates.

The cruise ship’s network is turned on and off when the ship is 9-12 nautical miles from land.

AT&T Cruise ship package allowances and overage rates for usage on-ship only apply when Cellular at Sea displays on the device. Package allowances and overage rates also apply off-ship, but only to the extent that customer is attached to land-based cellular networks in Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Everywhere else (including where Cellular at Sea, 901-18, or NOR-18 is not displayed) PPU rates apply, unless an additional current package offer applicable to the country visited is active on the line of service.

Cruise packages² automatically expire after 30 days so you never have to worry about stopping service after your cruise.

Usage while onboard ship is billed at domestic rates when the ship is docked or tendered at a U.S. port, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the customer is connected to a land-based network (i.e., not Cellular at Sea).
