Bringing the Swim School World Together

The Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) has created a world first, pulling together four events to be based around its annual National Conference in 2018 on the Gold Coast. As with its inaugural event in 2016, ASSA will be partnering with the biennial Splash! Expo – being held on 1st and 2nd August, with the Australian Swim Schools Conference leading into it from the 30th July to 1st August 2018.

2018 will also see the Swim Schools event followed on the 1st and 2nd August by the World Infant Aquatics Conference – the world’s leading event covering the teaching of infants and toddlers to swim. This brings together the leading exponents of teaching babies and toddlers swimming and water safety skills from around the globe. The focus will not only be on skill development, but also the many cognitive, social and emotional benefits accruing from quality early years swimming - as evidenced in the four year Griffith University study.

The fourth event in 2018 will be a Tour of Swim Schools in Sydney, for overseas visitors, preceding the Conferences. This will provide an excellent guided opportunity to take in a number of premier Swim Schools and the great city itself. A post Conferences Tour of Brisbane and its Swim Schools is also being considered.

Hotels, Apartments, Ocean-side accommodation properties with breathtaking views, and award-winning restaurants. Stay over the road in the heart of Broadbeach, or only a short tram trip south to Surfers Paradise, the options are endless.

We are currently seeking special deals that are available in Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise for our Conference delegates. In the meantime, keep an eye out for any deals you may come across for the Gold Coast, and stay tuned here for more information in the coming months.

Call for Expressions of Interest to Present ASSA, in conjunction with the International Swim Schools Association (ISSA) is delighted to be calling for Expressions of Interest to Present at either or both of these ground-breaking Conferences. This is a rare opportunity to showcase your work and be featured in an event that the global swim schools community will reflect on as a landmark in moving the Industry forward.

In appreciation, Presenters will be remunerated in the following manner: 1. FREE Registration to the Conference they are presenting in 2. A fee of A$200/ hour. Any presentations less than an hour will still receive A$200 3. A ‘memento’ specifically for presentersPlease note that airfares, accommodation and social events are not covered.
