INTRO.INTERNATIONAL SUMMER EDITION – WILD, COLORFUL, CREATIVE AND EMOTIONALEven this year, we want you to be inspired, fascinated, astonished and we want you to dance till you drop. Once more, the INTERNATIONAL SUMMER EDITION takes you for a shiny third ride. So, take your whole kit and caboodle, and let’s get on with three weeks of dancing, from July 27 to August 15.The INTERNATIONAL SUMMER EDITION will leave no wish unfulfilled: drinks at our BAR SOIRÉES, A CONCERT, A DJ SET, A PARTY, A 2ND CHANCE FLEA MARKET, A SHOWCASE with SPECIAL PERFORMANCES and even an ART EXHIBITION. And so, with much more than only dancing on the menu, we hope that with a whole lot of sunshine on top of that, you’ll feel welcome to stay around and enjoy yourself at Tanzwerk101, whether inside or outside on our cute little terrace.This year, our artistry exchange is further enriched with a new highlight; going forward for each new edition, we will now integrate a collaborative work in cooperation with hand-picked artists on a specific theme to shine a unique light on our Editions. Therefore, the 2020 Edition will host for the first time the CHOREOGRAPHERS IN RESIDENCE program; organized by Luca Signoretti, the new creative platform brings artists across different disciplines together. For the occasion, these created works will be exhibited at our newly founded event; Our FESTIVAL DAY.A promising terrain to embark on a rollercoaster of ideas, events and creativity! All in the spirit of our motto; “Spread your heART”.

CHOREOGRAPHERS INTENSIVE.The CHOREOGRAPHERS INTENSIVE is aimed at potential choreographers who are interested in having a closer look into the language of choreographing. The program is developed for those willing to tackle the challenge of facing situations, tasks and exercises that will bring them out of their comfort zone. With the aim of finding one’s own movement language and expand it, it will require the participant to be open to new ideas, tasks and scenarios.Themes such as “Finding depth and importance in simplicity” or “appropriating signature-moves” will be approached and consolidated.The possibility for the participants to showcase the result of their work on choreographic sequences, in the form of a “sneak-peek”, is open. However, the decision to do so will be left for the participants to discuss with their choreographer during the process of the three days and will be independent from the creative process. You will find information on all planned happenings on social media (Facebook, Instagram) and on our website, which will continuously be updated.

The BEGINNER INTENSIVE program is an intensive and complete program for new learners and beginners. In the safe atmosphere of the program framework, the participants will learn the basics and master in no time their “most favorite dance moves”. For five days, in each two-hour session, the instructors will engage individually with the participants; good vibes and a rewarding sense of achievement are guaranteed! But careful, the fun wouldn’t be the same without some sweating and muscle soreness! Get ready for a week of challenges full of aha moments! No prior experience is required to attend the program. No showing at the end of the program.

The workshop does not comprise a warm-up. WHAT’S WHAT? WORK IN PROGRESS & LAB. We offer different programs, so what are the differences? For all workshop programs, the aim is to work with renowned choreographers and learn sequences of choreography from them. We left nothing to chance. And as if we hadn’t had enough of all good things, the DJ will make sure to have us dancing and celebrating until we can’t no more at the AFTER PARTY. Wow! And that is one firework of a revelry you do not want to miss… All we have left to say is; „Spread your heART“.

CHOREOGRAPHERS IN RESIDENCE by Luca Signoretti.In collaboration with Tanzwerk101 as residency, the Choreographers in Residence event offers four hand-picked choreographers an unrestricted creative ground to fully let their creativity bloom and develop the full potential of their imagination with as much liberty as possible. In this place, drafts, dismissed ideas which never had the chance to blossom will have the possibility to be in the limelight. For two weeks, the choreographers will create short pieces with local artists from various disciplines. On August 15th, the four performances will be showcased several times across the entire Tanzwerk101 Area.

——Q&A. Have you always wanted to know how, as a young dancer, one gets introduced to an important theater? How one becomes a YouTube star? How one manages bigger or smaller companies and conceives pieces? Or how one gains a foothold in the great wide world of business? This is it, here and now, your chance to learn about everything and expand your network!Various instructors stand at your disposal to discuss and provide you with answers to your questions. The Q&A takes place in the main event room and will be hosted by Alex Hipwell. To make the best of this opportunity to learn, make sure to prepare your questions in advance and get ready for some inspiring discussion!

——CONCERT by Feedback. The long years of collaborative work, which the six musicians that compose the band Feedback have undergone, don’t go unnoticed. The experience from previous bands creates a versatile mix through which the various musical careers and styles of the individual members transpire.The music of Feedback is a mix of Rock, Blues and Latin. Nowadays, the band performs mostly covers of famed artists the likes of Joe Cocker, Deep Purple, ZZ-Top, Gary Moore, Walter Trouth, Foreigner or Santana, amongst others. Their trusted recipe has not changed in more than 20 years; good sound and groove, mixed with catchy riffs and melodies.

——SHOWCASE. The participants of the WIP Workshops will perform what they have worked on over the course of five days at the showcase of our International Summer Edition. For the occasion, the showcase will be framed with choreo-graphies from guest performers. Over the course of an evening during which our dance community in all its variety will gather to exchange, network and blossom to its full potential, the showcase will offer a platform for both students and dancers from the professional world to present their work. > Now with two short intermissions for refreshments at the bar.
