UK style applicationsIn the UK, the application process may involve different steps depending on the size of the employer, the level of specialism and the seniority of the post.The process may involve a few or all of these steps, (often, but not always, in this order):
- an on-line/paper application form or CV with covering letter - application tests (personality and psychometric tests) - telephone interview - assessment centre (with a combination of tests, interview/s, group exercises, tours/opportunities to meet the staff) - face to face interview- job offer (subject to acceptable references, a medical check and sometimes security checks).
UK style applications
Employers place great importance on English language fluency, self-awareness, relevant skills for the job and job motivation. Each job application should be individually tailored to meet the needs of the employer.
