o Received his dental education at the Free University in

Amsterdam, The Netherlands and graduated in 1976.

From 1985, he was an associate professor at the

Department of Oral Function and Prosthetic Dentistry of

the Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

- Topics of specific interest are: geriatric dentistry, prosthetic

dentistry, maxillofacial prosthetics, oral implantology, tooth

wear, and halitosis. - A PhD-study on geriatric dentistry and

prosthetic dentistry was finished in 1990.

- As from 1999, he is Professor in Geriatric Dentistry at the

Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

- Professor De Baat is (co-)author of several publications in peer

reviewed journals and books and professional journals, and he is

editor of several textbooks.

- He was a speaker at many congresses, conferences and

symposia in his native country and abroad. - From 1993 until

1996 he was External Examiner in Restorative Dentistry at the

University of Manchester in England.

- He is a co-founder of the Dutch Society of Gerodontology and

the European College of Gerodontology.

- He served both the Society and the College as Secretary and as

President.

- As from 2002, he is the Editor-in-chief of the Dutch Journal of

Dentistry.

Prof. Dr. BOGDAN VLADILA

Dr. Bogdan Vladila is a graduate of the Faculty of

Dentistry at “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and

Pharmacy, Bucharest (1999). He received his diploma

in Oral Implantology at the International Institute of

Dental Implantology, Paris (2001).

His research focus is on accelerated periodontal tissue

regeneration, having published two international patents in this

domain: “Electro-magnetic cellular treatment” (2011) and

“Apparatus for local application of an extremely low frequency

magnetic field to cells” (2013).

- Based on these two patents, Dr. Vladila has invented a new

medical device with applications in Periodontology and

Implantology – Electronic Doctor.

- His invention was awarded the Gold medal at Brussels Innova,

the International Exhibition of Invention, Research and New

Technologies (2014) and at the International Exhibition of

Inventions in Geneva (2014).
