La temperatura superficial del mar registró valores de hasta 31°C frente a las costas de México y Guatema-la, mientras que la cuenca de Panamá mostró valores entre 26°C y 27°C. El frente ecuatorial se ubicó en posición normal para la época , la isoterma de los 20°C se ubicó a la altura del golfo de Guayaquil. Las sur-gencias costeras frente a Perú y Chile registran intensi-dades normales para la fecha.
De acuerdo a la información satelital del GOES (Julio 2006) tomando como base las normales de Reynolds, las anomalías en Centroamérica fluctúan entre 0.5°C y 1.5°C, en tanto que en el Pacífico Sudoriental, las anomalías fluctuaron entre 0.5°C y . (Fig. 1)

hasta –0.8°C al sur de México y Guatemala. En el Pacífico Sudoriental entre 90°W y 120°W en latitu-des medias, se registran anomalías de hasta –1.5°C, de acuerdo a los datos de NOAA/GODAS (Fig. 3 ).

Está dirigido a la comunidad vinculada a las actividades marinas de Centro y Suda-mérica y a quienes obser-van cuidadosamente el océano para sus prediccio-nes climáticas en el Pacífico Oriental. Cuenta con una sección de análisis de las principales fuentes de infor-mación disponibles para la región, los resultados de modelos de pronósticos más relevantes en el área y una sección final de conclusio-nes que nos permita comuni-car al lector, la posible evolu-ción de las condiciones oceanográficas en el Pacífi-co Oriental.

De acuerdo a la información del NOAA/NCEP/GODAS , el Pacífico Ecuatorial registró en el mes de Julio, anomalías subsuperficiales positivas, que al-canzaron valores de hasta 2°C entre los primeros 100 m y 200 m de profundidad.En el Pacífico Orien-tal, a nivel subsuperficial (promedio desde los 300 m de profundidad), se evidencian anomalías de
