A tradition of cross-border collaboration
Norway 5 000 000 inhabitants 324 000 km2 + 61 500 km2 15 persons per km2
Sweden 9 500 000 inhabitants
528 000 km2
20 persons per km2
Common border: 1619 km
A constant stream of people cross the Norwegian-Swedish border
• Border commerce is continually setting new records
• Nordby shopping centre outside Strömstad has 7 million visitors a year
• There are medical transport runs almost daily to hospitals across the border
• Easter in Strömstad is almost a pilgrimage for Norwegians
• 18,000 vehicles a day cross the Svinesund Bridge, of which 2,500 are heavy goods vehicles
• Emergencies occur close to the 1,600 km border
Nødnett and Rakel
A clear project goal Swedish - the emergency services can use their Rakel mobiles all over Norway Norwegian - the emergency services can use their Nødnet terminals all over Sweden
A balance between needs, options and obstacles
The method will support the technology The technology will support the method • Two authorities with different powers • Two countries with established yet
different methods • New guidelines need to be produced

We believe there is a clear need for a modern and independent mobile OS that enables free competition and innovation, without predominant control by a single player. Sailfish brings and fosters innovation to offer unique differentiation and a competitive advantage for OEMs and ODMs, chipset providers, operators, application developers and retailers. A real alternative Sailfish OS is set out to be a real alternative. It is independent, open, partner friendly, and created by a team with credible track record, now working at Jolla Ltd. Jolla is set to create an ecosystem unlike others around Sailfish OS and welcomes everyone to join the voyage.
