On 08 July to 11 July, 2013 (Monday to Thursday) Course: B. Pharmacy Students of B. Pharmacy attended Regular classes on Pharmaceutical chemistry-X and Pharmacology-III given by Dr. Gerardo Ulibarri and Dr. Abdul Omri, respectively. Regarding practicals in Pharmaceutical chemistry-X, students had to do in-silico practicals- molecular modeling; Dr. Gerardo Ulibarri had discussed how to use Sci-finder database for chemistry. In pharmacology, students followed the following schedule.

SUB: CS2: Wireless Communication and Mobile Programming (Dr. Khalid Mahmud) – Room C 112 Till today Dr Khalid Mahmud has covered the following topics Dated 9/07/13 GSM Global system for mobile communication, Global system for mobile communication, GSM architecture, GSM entities, call routing in GSM,PLMN interface, GSM addresses and identifiers, network aspects in GSM,GSM frequency allocation, authentication and security, Short message services, Mobile computing over SMS,SMS, value added services through SMS, accessing the SMS bearer General packet radio service(GPRS) GPRS and packet data network, GPRS network architecture, GPRS network operation, data services in GPRS, Applications of GPRS, Billing and charging in GPRS. He has also given a project application related to the requirement of real world in any platform, Their reports due date is before 12/07/2013. Class Quiz Competition: The quiz was conducted on the topic “Global System for Mobile Communication” on 10/7/2013. Dr. Khalid prepared a progress report with the marks for class quiz. He has also given a project application related to the requirements of real world on any platform. Their reports due date is before 12/07/2013.



On 08 July, 2013 (Monday) Lecture on Geography of Canada was delivered by Dr. Jorge Virchez to all Students in Room C112. Dr. Jorge explained the geographic features of Canada, the world's second largest country in total area. Situated in North America (constituting 41% of the continent's area), Canada spans a vast, diverse territory between the North Pacific Ocean to the west and the North Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Arctic Ocean. It was nice experience for the GTU students to gain geographical knowledge about Canada, province of Ontario and Sudbury’s history and culture.

Followed by the Geography lecture students attended the Doran Planetarium show. The show was conducted by Dr. Paul-Émile Legault, and he explained about the Black Hole. The Doran Planetarium is in the Fraser Building on the Laurentian University campus. The Doran Planetarium is the largest planetarium in northern Ontario.



On 12 July, 2013 (Friday) Students of B. Pharmacy and Computer science appeared for Mid-semester exam as per following schedule at Fraser auditorium FA 054. B.Pharmacy:11.00-12.00 am, Pharmaceutical Chemistry-X (MedicinalChemistry) (Dr.Gerardo Ulibarri) 3.00 – 4.30 pm, Pharmacology III (Dr. Abdul Omri) Computer Science: 11.00-12.00 am, Wireless Communication and Mobile Programming (Dr. Khalid) 3.00 – 4.30 pm , Web Data Management (Dr. Kalpdrum Passi)

On, 13 and 14 July, 2013 (Saturday and Sunday),

Students went on a trip to Toronto and visited CN tower. The CN Tower is considered one of the

Seven Wonders of the Modern World, and is the most popular tourist attraction in Toronto, Ontario. The

CN Tower is a 553.33 m-high (1,815.4 ft) concrete communications and observation tower in Downtown

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Built on the former Railway Lands, it was completed in 1976, becoming the

world's tallest free-standing structure and world's tallest tower at the time. It held both records for 34

years until the completion of Burj Khalifa and Canton Tower in 2010. Attractions included outdoor

observation and "elephant-proof" glass floor at 1,122 feet and Skypod at 1465 ft. from ground, 360° CN

Tower's restaurant, which rotates once every 72 minutes, the arcade and motion simulator ride located at

the base of the tower. Also at the base, guests can enjoy a 15-minute documentary entitled "To the Top", a

great film about the building of the CN Tower. On July 13, at 4.00 pm students moved for Niagara falls. Students visited different monuments and took a boat ride in the Maid-of-Mist and tour of

Behind-the-falls. On 14 July, students started for BAPS temple at 4.30 pm and got best wishes

from revered Swamiji. The students enjoyed their trip thoroughly.
