In its continuous effort to reach out to the community, International College offers a professional development program for Lebanese public and private schools, consisting of a wide variety of workshops covering all levels and various subject areas.

The program is in line with the commitment of International College and its Educational Resources Center to high quality education, which it seeks to promote throughout Lebanon. The workshops are presented by IC administration and faculty members who strive to share the latest educational theories and successful practices that enhance student learning.

Registration

Registration Participants may register upon completion of an application form and payment of fees at the Educational Resources Center (ERC) in Beirut.

The ERC is open on school days from 7:30 to 15:00. Since places are limited in each workshop, interested teachers are advised to register as early as possible.

The ERC reserves the right to cancel or postpone workshops in case of emergency or low attendance.

In this workshop, school principals, department heads, and technology coordinators will explore the suite of ISTE Standards for Students, Teachers, Coaches, and Administrators and how they can be integrated to create a homogeneous technology-rich school culture. Through interactive discussions and collaborative activities, this workshop will also cover the role of the Educational Technology Coach (facilitator) and the administration in making technology integration happen. We will also discuss the school software systems, professional development strategies, and technology planning.

A green school offers a healthy environment conducive to learning while saving energy, resources and money (USBGC). By greening the operations, introducing simple procedures, replacing old equipment, and changing some design criteria, the existing school can promote the three pillars of sustainability, i.e. environmental, social, and economical.

The workshop will help school administrators and physical plant supervisors explore green technologies, innovations, and methodology in order for the school to establish its own sustainability plan and start the transformation process into a green school.

Topics in this workshop will include; introducing simple no-cost procedures; energy efficient systems; renewable energy systems; building envelope enhancement; passive design elements; environmental and economic benefit; and possible funding resources
