Internal Review Panel Guide on the Pre‐Award Grant Management System (PAGMS) Contents  1. Narrated steps .................................................................................................................... 2 2. Steps in screen shots .......................................................................................................... 3 3. Still struggling? .................................................................................................................... 9 Purpose of this guide This guide is for UP personnel who the Department of Research and Innovation (DRI) has identified as internal reviewers for grant applications prepared by UP colleagues.   This module facilitates an internal review process before officially submitting to a funding agency.   The Research Administrators at DRI have routed the application through PAGMS to the reviewers.   The reviewers will receive an email notification informing them that the application is available for review.    Through the Internal Review Panel Module, the reviewer can:  - Download the application  - Add a comment or upload the application with track changes  - Inform the Department of Research and Innovation that the review is complete by the internal deadline date  Reviewers’ comments remain anonymous on the system. Special attention must be paid when track changed documents are uploaded of reviewers wish to remain anonymous.

Purposeofthisguide

This guide is for UP personnel who the Department of Research and Innovation (DRI) has 

identified as internal reviewers for grant applications prepared by UP colleagues.  

This module facilitates an internal review process before officially submitting to a funding agency.  

The Research Administrators at DRI have routed the application through PAGMS to the 

reviewers.  

The reviewers will receive an email notification informing them that the application is available 

for review.   

Through the Internal Review Panel Module, the reviewer can:  

- Download the application  

- Add a comment or upload the application with track changes  

- Inform the Department of Research and Innovation that the review is complete by the 

internal deadline date 

Reviewers’ comments remain anonymous on the system. Special attention must be paid when 

track changed documents are uploaded of reviewers wish to remain anonymous.

1. Narratedsteps Follow the following steps to access the PAGMS:

1. Log onto the UP staff portal  

2. Click on Staff System Portlets  

3. Under PeopleSoft Faculty Centre Portlet, click on Faculty Centre (LOL) – View Class List  

4. Login again with your UP staff portal login details  

5. Under Main Menu, click on Research Funding and Grants  

6. Click on External Funding workcentre  

Follow the following steps the access the Internal Review Panel:

7. Click on Internal Review Panel  

8. Either entre the application ID for a specific application or click on Search for all the applications 

assigned for review 

9. Click on View document to download or view document for review. Note the deadline date for 

reviewers’ comments  

10. Review the document online or off‐line. Return to the system to add a comment or to upload the 

document with track changes 

11. When done, click on Mark Complete and Save. When the review is completed, the system will 

remove the entry from your Internal Review Panel section and the Department of Research and 

Innovation will receive an email notification.
