Academic excellence obtained in the form of ranks and distinctions in university examinations. Students are assigned the research projects works of high relevance in their final semesters Students are motivated to participate in the cultural activities conducted in college. Students are motivated to actively participate in the programmes like Blood donation camp, AIDs Awareness, Polio Vaccination, Human rights, Woman empowerment, NSS activities etc Accountability maintained by Audit reports.

Students were oriented towards curricular and co-curricular activities by way of Lecturing.

Some of the teachers have got M.Phil and Ph.D Degree from different Academic institutions and they are sharing their higher knowledge with the students by doing innovative teaching

Teachers have been in practice of using ICT method over routine class room teaching has in the previous days, so that updated information is being disseminated through internet browsing.

In different subjects of teaching in the institution, various topics have been chosen for research in minor and major projects.

To inculcate the research activity, while in degree programme, students have been assigned project works of current relevance and teachers as guides, monitoring their work with interest and responsibilities.

In time completion of prescribed syllabi and revisions of different topics has made the students feeling easy to face their academic examinations. Most of the students in all departments have come out with higher percentage of marks.

To serve the society, students have been enrolled in good number for NSS and NCC programmes.

3.26 Major Activities during the year in the sphere of extension activities and Institutional Social Responsibility

• NSS annual camp was organized at the village. Various awareness programmes on health and cleanliness were conducted by the NSS students.

• College Science forum has organized several competitions related to social responsibility for students of different colleges.

• Women empowerment cell has organized awareness program related to health and women harassment for girl students. The activity and report as in the Annexure - III

� Training on Web browsing, online purchase of books, e-mail creation, Scholarship registration, online examination registration given to students.

Theme : Gender Equality On 17th March, 2012 International Women’s day was celebrated. WEC organized the program while Students Councelling Cell and Students Grievances Cell also joined in International Women’s Day Celebrations.

This program commenced at 10.30 a.m. with a prayer by Prof. Shobha Dalawayi.

Prof. Jagadeeshwari extended a very warm Welcome to the dignitaries, teaching and nonteaching staff, students and media.

Inauguration of the function was done by the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Smt. Kumuda Naik, Principal Prof. C.K.Maheshwarappa and other dignitaries.

A classical dance performance by Sumalatha, M.Sc. Botany student.

Chief Guest biodata was read out by Asst. Prof. Rupa.

The Chief Guest of the function Smt. Kumuda Naik, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Government of India, Chitradurga told the girl students about the various facilities through which the girls could make use of to be independent.

An interactive session was held wherein discussion revolved dealt with both serious and lighter topics :

1. Men widows remarry, also the society encourages them to do so, whereas women widows are not encouraged at all, infact they have to lead their lives alone. Why is it so ?

2. Parents work hard to give dowry for their daughters to men. Why should not that same money be rather utilized for their education and making them economically important ?

3. Why do parents marry their daughters before the completion of their education ? 4. Why do college girls get quickly attracted to boys and loose their identity ? 5. Why women below the poverty line choose prostitution as their work to lead their live ? 6. Why do only boys are supposed to go to the prospective bride’s house to select them as their

partner, why cannot the girls go and select the groom ?
