Position: Transmission Operation EngineerReports to: Head of OperationsDepartment: Technical

1.Co-ordinate network rollout in terms of E1 routing and provisioning, Testing and sending loopbacks to NOC to check the continuity of the provision E1 as well as loopback to the terminal site is in synch with the DXU . This must meet the quality standard of the roll out.2.For any new link, ensure a 24hour BERT is done and report taken to check the performance of the link .3.Audit and keep all inventory lists related to O&M in assigned area, liaise with Network Operations Manager and Logistic for spare and levels and movements and faulty units, spare and repaired items. 4.Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Transmission Network equipment (Microwave & MUXES) 5.Should respond to Emergencies as quickly as possible. 6.Implement transmission expansion and upgrade as and when it is necessary. 7.Assist with the design and implementation of Transmission Network, DCN Network, E1 routing to Switch and Switch to other operator interconnect facilities.8.Assist with the identification and requisitioning of a minimum level of test equipment to support Transmission Equipment. 9.Ensure that all faulty transmission equipments under your care are returned to the appropriate place and where necessary sent for repairs through the use of RMA 10.Have to be proactive in other to prevent outages of any kind. 11.Give full support to the RAN Engineers with Transmission troubleshooting and escalate to the vendor when required.
