My brief 1:

Is to create a mix media painting of my own myth for an exhibition. It needs to attract any age of audience and should include a back story on what my myth has been through. It will be put up in display at the ‘Painted Hall’ in Greenwich (Old Royal Naval College).

My Brief 2:

Is to create an illustration of different historical figures for children at the age of ten. This will be displayed in library's for children to read.

These are my possible briefs that I could be doing

Initial Idea 1: Illustration On Different Historical Figures

With this idea I thought that I could do something like a story book for children who are in Primary School as they might not know about different Historical Figures and I would like to educate them. They will have images of them as well as some facts about their life and what they have done. I want to make this as interesting for young children as I believe that they will be more intrigued if it has colour and a few facts.

Initial Idea 2: Illustration about Star Constellations and How Both Places Link Together

With this idea I thought about the Star Constellation as Sir James Thornhill, who painted the painted hall, did a painting with Star Constellations and I found that interesting. I also found out that there is a clock that helped everyone know what the time is, which is located in Greenwich. My client will be for anyone who is interested in time and a bit of history as this helps people understand how people told the time in the past. Illustration was the first thing that came to mind as it is an easy way, but interesting way to explain/show the audience what I am talking about.

Initial idea 3: Creating My Own Myth

I started to look at different Historical figures as I wanted an idea of how I can start and create my own myth. Each myth has their own characteristics and also their own looks and that’s one thing I would have in mind if I would choose this idea. With creating my own myth I was thinking about do a multi-media piece of artwork as I want it to be eye-catching and not just using one media. This idea came from the Old Royal Naval College as in the Painted Hall I saw people who had wings and that is a type of Historical Figure. Then I looked at Sir James Thornhill even more as I wanted to see what else he has done and that is where I came across a painting with Pegasus, so that’s how I came up with the idea of creating my own myth.
