1. DEMOLISH THE EXISTING WOOD FRAMED PARTITION WITH GYPSUM BOARD AND PLYWOOD FINISH. REFER TO MEP DRAWINGSFOR ANY LIGHT SWITCHES, POWER OUTLETS OR MECHANICAL DEVICES THAT WILL NEED TO BE ELIMINATED OR RELOCATED.REFER TO PHOTO 1.01 WHICH ADDRESSES THE FOLLOWING EXISTING CONDITIONS IN AND WITH THIS PARTITION:
CONDITION A: EXISTING ELECTRICAL PANEL SERVING THE SPACE IS MOUNTED TO THE PARTITION TO BE DEMOLISHED. PROVIDE TEMPORARY SUPPORT FOR THE ELECTRICAL PANEL AND ASSOCIATED CONDUITS UNTIL NEW PERMANENT SUPPORT IS INSTALLED. REFER TO PHOTOS 1.02, 1.03, 10.4 AND 1.05.
CONDITION B: EXISTING TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT IS MOUNTED TO THE PLYWOOD WHICH IS SECURED TO THE PARTITION TO BE DEMOLISHED. PROVIDE TEMPORARY SUPPORT FOR THE PLYWOOD BACK BOARD UNTIL NEW PERMANENT SUPPORT IS INSTALLED. REFER TO PHOTOS 1.06, 1.07 AND 1.08

DEMOLITION NOTES:1. THE FINISH ON THE EXISTING CMU WALLS HAS TESTED POSITIVE FOR ASBESTOS
MATERIAL. THE OWNER HAS HAD SELECTIVE ABATEMENT PERFORMED IN THOSEAREAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE WORK INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS. IF THEGENERAL CONTRACTOR DETERMINES THAT THE WORK WILL REQUIREDISTURBING THE EXISTING WALL FINISH IN AREAS OTHER THAN THOSE AREASWHERE SELECTIVE ABATEMENT HAS BEEN PERFORMED, HE SHALL CEASE THEWORK IN THAT AREA AND CONTACT THE ARCHITECT AND THE OWNER.
2. NO DEMOLITION WORK SHALL START UNTIL ALL THE OWNER'S TELECOM/DATA EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN PROTECTED ASINDICATED ON THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS.
3. NO DEMOLITION WORK SHALL START UNTIL THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR, THE OWNER AND THE ARCHITECT HAS REVIEWEDTHE WORK AND IDENTIFIED CONDITIONS.
4. PHOTOS OF EXISTING CONDITIONS ARE PROVIDED AND INCLUDED IN THE BACK OF THE PROJECT MANUAL FOR THE GENERALCONTRACTOR'S REFERENCE AND INFORMATION. THE PHOTOS ARE NUMBERED AND REFERENCED ON THE ATTACHEDPHOTOGRAPH REFERENCE FLOOR PLAN.
5. DEMOLITION WORK IS SPECIFIC AND SENSITIVE IN NATURE. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE DILIGENT AND CAUTIOUSDURING THE DEMOLITION PROCESS. ANY WORK PERFORMED IN THE DEMARC ROOM MUST BE PERSONALLY SUPERVISEDAND/OR PERFORMED BY/OR WITH THE SUPERVISION OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S APPROVED SUPERINTENDENTPRESENT.

G. WHERE NEW WIRING DEVICES ARE TO BE INSTALLED, THEY MAY BEINSTALLED USING EXPOSED CONDUIT AND JUNCTION BOXES WHENLOCATED ON EXISTING CMU OR CONCRETE WALLS. OTHERWISE, ALLCONDUIT SHALL BE CONCEALED AND JUNCTION BOXES SHALL BEFLUSH MOUNTED.
H. ALL VOICE/DATA CABLING WILL BE INSTALLED IN A SEPARATECONTRACT. EXTEND 1 1/4" CONDUIT FROM ALL VOICE/DATA OUTLETSAND RACEWAY TO ABOVE THE CEILING IN SPACES WITH CEILING ORTO THE STRUCTURE ABOVE IN AREAS WITHOUT CEILINGS. INSTALL4"X4" JUNCTION BOX WITH SINGLE GANG PLASTER RING WHEREMOUNTED IN GYP WALLS.
I. IN GENERAL, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, REMOVE ALL DEVICES,CONDUIT, AND WIRE IN THE ROOM AND BELOW THE FLOOR. NOUNUSED MATERIAL SHALL REMAIN. VERIFY SCOPE OF WORK ATJOBSITE.
J. RE-BALANCE, AS NEEDED, POWER DISTRIBUTION TO ASSURE THATEXISTING AND NEW CIRCUITS SERVING ALL EQUIPMENT IN THE AREAOF WORK FOR THIS PROJECT WILL NOT BE OVERLOADED.
K. AFTER THE DEMOLITION PHASE OF THE PROJECT, AND PRIOR TO THEBEGINNING OF THE NEW WORK, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RECORDTHE AMPERE LOAD ON EACH LEG OF PANEL(S), FOR (7) CONSECUTIVEDAYS. THE RESULTING READINGS SHALL THEN BE SUBMITTED TO THEUT PROJECT MANAGER OF RECORD FOR REVIEW. L. PER UT STANDARDS, REFER TO THE UT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTIONSTANDARDS FOR FIRE ALARM REQUIRING NOTIFICATION APPLIANCESTO EITHER BE BLANK OR BE MARKED WITH THE WORD "ALERT". M. FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA72, THE NATIONAL FIRE ALARM AND SIGNALING CODE AND THE UTDESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARD - SECTION 28 31 00 - FIREALARM AND SIGNALING (REVISED JANUARY 2013).
