and spiritual paths,

spiritual development.
In the end, AIHT graduates are offering the open-
ness and compassion of interfaith action to the ever
evolving world in which we live, transforming their

i f you are among the many people today who are seeking spiritual transformation through the growth of your own personal interfaith perspective, the American Institute of Holistic Theology offers the
kind of inspirational education you can believe in. With an education from AIHT, not only can you transform and nurture your own life and faith, but you can use this education to minister and serve others.
What is an interfaith PersPective?
An interfaith perspective bridges the gaps between religions, faiths, and spiritual paths. An interfaith perspective provides understanding, rather than condemnation, developing understanding through a consis-tent effort to study the various rituals, liturgies, ceremonies, prayers, and spiritual experiences of the various world religions and spiritual paths. In fact, you could say that the interfaith perspective is actually a composite perspective, one that is inclusive rather than exclusive of the diverse tradi-tions, faiths, cultures, and religions of our world. One with an interfaith perspective can, for example, belong to a particular faith, and yet practice rituals and liturgies from other faiths and spiritual traditions. Or, one may activate a spiritual path as individual as the diversity that is human-ity itself. Openness to the gifts and wisdom gained from any spiritual endeavor is the very definition of the interfaith perspective.
the history of aiht
The American Institute of Holistic Theology was established in 1991. Since that time the development of programming and curriculum has evolved, through its own study, to an interfaith perspective that is more and more true to the holism that defines us. Over those years of growth, AIHT has inspired thousands of students to find and live their own spiritual lives with a knowledge base that allows them to evolve and to serve others by providing respectful, spiritual care to all persuasions and faiths. The school has developed it's programs with the intent of giving our students a firm but broad base, that will not only add more meaning

to their own lives but will also allow them to minister to others. Our interfaith programs have grown to include Holistic Theology, Holistic Ministries, Holistic Health and Spiritual Care, Metaphysical Spirituality, and Alternate Spiritual Traditions. Each of these programs is interfaith at its core, but is specifically directed toward the particular area of spiritual service of each student’s choice. And as we challenge our students to grow, we continue to grow as well.
AIHT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our programs are inter-faith; bridging the gaps between religions, faiths, and spiritual paths.
oPPortunities
The first years of the 21st Century have brought each of us to the precipice of transformation and we will all be a part of the changes that are made in our world. AIHT gives its students the opportunity to be leaders in that transformative process, offering openness and wholeness simulta-neously to those whom they serve, assisting those they touch in forming their own connection to the Divine, holding forth the holiness that is in all, offering ministry to those who request it and increasing the meaning and wholeness in their own lives through knowledge, wisdom and service.
So, why choose AIHT? Because AIHT offers you the knowledge base to transform your life and offer compassionate support and service to your world.
Why Choose AIhT?
Make a change in your life… and in the world.

The American Institute of Holistic Theology offers distance learn-ing to an international community of students. Each student works closely with an admissions advisor to decide upon a course
of study and, once decided, progress at a pace of his/her own choosing. Students may work from their homes or whatever environment is condu-cive to progress.
Our coursework is deliberately intended to focus both on the student’s individual spiritual growth as well as on the field of ministry in which that student will serve. Therefore, students are encouraged to follow their own learning path by choosing courses that match their indi-vidual transformative desires. Simultaneously, students are encouraged to pursue course work that will enable and empower them to serve in the ministry or service of their choice.
Our coursework is intended to encourage each student’s independent study. Therefore, students will be challenged with both written and expe-riential assignments. We want our students to explore both their interior and their exterior worlds. Though we grade them on tests, we do not tell them what to expect from their experiences and experiments. Rather we encourage openness and independent thinking. Throughout each of the programs the student will be aided in developing an independent approach to interfaith practice and ministry.

AIHT serves its students by offering:
• The assistance and facilitation of dedicated faculty and staff who offer supportive insight, practical guidance for coursework, inspiration and collaboration.
• Coursework that brings to focus the expertise and wisdom of both yesterday’s and today’s spiritual leaders in order to facilitate a learn-ing curve toward spiritual fulfillment and ministry to serve.
• A growing body of relevant material for the student to study in order to stay current on the latest information in a particular area of endeavor.
• A time-honed focus on student progress and growth in exploring self and serving others.
• A valuable and thought-provoking Web site intended to facilitate networking opportunities among students, graduates and affinity groups.
AIHT systematically assesses its effectiveness in attaining these core values and goals and in promoting its vision; using the results of these assessments to enhance programs, services, and curricula.

A Message from the Presidentg enuine human-kindness, benevolent acceptance, and peace-
keeping are core values expressed in every one of the world
religions and spiritual pathways. These core values spring from
a foundation of sincere love and compassion. This love and compassion is
the source we can access to remove all separation. And it is from this love
and compassion that the interfaith perspective is established. At the spiri-
tual level of awareness, each tradition shares with every other tradition a
sense of connection or unity, because of which, if we wish to serve, we must
learn to protect and uplift all living things. Just as art can elevate our
earthly imagination to the celestial realm, so the intention of such unity
can inspire each of us as individuals, communities, and nations to live and
grow in harmony, co-creating deeper levels of unity.
Many are now seeking to find answers that run deeper than simply
being a part of a particular religion. Each year at AIHT, I have seen an
increase in the numbers of inquisitive seekers; seekers who want to under-
stand not only their own spiritual depth, but who want to learn more
“The highest, most complete devotion is to teach others about the expanded
self. AIHT aligns with my personal mission and ethical standards, and I feel
honored to share an authentic path with such forward-thinking educators.

wisdom and grace before them. Even science is begin-
ning to consider the possibilities of such unity, so that
it has conducted research evaluating such things as
the power of prayer and the effect of peace-of-mind
on the body.
AIHT is designed to join you as a spiritual
seeker, to feed your hunger for accurate information
and to inspire you, from wherever you are in your
own journey. Our innovative, self-paced programs
combine stimulating concepts with proven, manage-
able approaches to service and self-growth. Created
for adult students who seek a thoughtful balance of learning, working, and
family life, independent studies are first accessible and then transforming.
Are you ready to take the journey of discovery inherent in such an
education? From so many paths and so many viewpoints, our alumni
share a bold, bright, unifying dream-to offer transformation to themselves
and their world. As interfaith ministers, family/life coaches, advisors,
counselors, authors, teachers, community volunteers, and more, our gradu-
ates truly become ministers of the world. If you are open to living your
dreams, now is your time.

“True education is a process of self-discovery. Each book we study,
each paper we write, each experiment and experiential exercise we conduct
can be a step into the deeper design and meaning of our lives. True
education is not meant to teach you what others think or how they act.
The education is meant to help you find out what you think: What are
your core values? Where are your boundaries? How does your particular
personality affect you and others? What are your gifts? How do you access
the Divine? What have you to give to the world? Only when you find
yourself asking and answering these questions can you say you have truly
been educated.”

Interfaith Educational Programs

Introduction to Holistic Theology
AIHT’s Holistic Theology program is designed to encompass a vast philosophical sphere of diverse religious approaches
and spiritual paths. The goal is to equip for excellence those who are committed to establishing or building an interfaith ministry as their vocation or avocation. AIHT offers a curriculum that helps you gain a deeper grasp and integration of interfaith theology. This curriculum focuses not only on building your knowledge base but also on develop-ing abilities, skills and competencies in interfaith ministry.
15
The Holistic Theology program begins with 30 hours of core studies that prepare you to focus on a chosen area of concentration to further integrate your personal and professional goals. You will then continue with 30 additional concentration hours of study in Holis-tic Theology, Holistic Ministries, Holistic Health and Spiritual Care, Metaphysical Spirituality, or Alternate Spiritual Traditions. Each concentration offers a diversity of theological wisdom.
16
“One of the greatest truths
that you will learn from AIHT
is just how powerful you really
are. It is your choice what world
you live in, and by changing your
mind you change your world.”

The Holistic Theology program with a concentration in Holis-
tic Theology embraces the unity of diversity with the intention of assisting you in discovering your own genuine experience of divin-ity, so that you may serve others and yourself in the grace of that experience.
This concentration is for those who wish to study theology from an integrated interfaith perspec-tive. Through such study, the student can explore a wide variety of approaches and definitions of the Divine in order to more deeply explore one’s own spiritual dimension.
The coursework in this inno-vative concentration is designed to both immerse students in the history of humanity’s diverse experiences of the Divine, and assist them in asking universal questions of the heart and mind. Each course offers the depth and breadth that allows you the opportunity to study, in your own preferred setting, the ways and means of spirituality.

With a host of inspiring opportunities for self-
exploration, development and spir-itual growth, this concentration addresses the practicalities of your chosen ministry. Ministry is seen as an all-encompassing service, impassioned and motivated by one’s own authentic spiritual quest.
Within that framework, the dual catalysts of self-development and compassionate service to others of all persuasions serve to facilitate your ability to build a pathway for ministry. Here you will study the various possibilities for service and ministry, enabling you to amplify and enrich the unique gifts you will bring to such service through confidence-building experiential exercises by which one may ultimately practice a given ministry.
As a holistic minister you may choose from a wide variety of career options to offer clients or congregants your own gifted approach to service. The course-work is specific enough to give you an in-depth understand-ing of a particular ministry, yet

With unity as a foundational premise of the interfaith perspec-tive, then unity of body, mind and soul must also be considered to be part of this paradigm. Embody-ing the harmony of homeostatic balance of mind, body and soul is seen as a critical component of spirituality.
Healthy resilience builds on a strong, solid interdependence within the constituent parts of the whole person. Therefore, many of the holistic health approaches studied in this coursework offer diverse methodologies by which a person may attain optimal balance.
This concentration enables you to discover your own unique talents and gifts in this area, assisting you in choosing the ways and means of self-healing and service that are most appropriate to your abilities.
holIsTIC heAlTh And sPIrITuAl CAre
Seeking to bring unity to body, mind and soul, this innovative
concentration offers an in-depth understanding of many of the currently accepted alternative and integrative methods of healing and health. In the process you have the opportunity to develop your own personal and professional design for body/mind/spirit health as care of the soul.
19
Metaphysics is a foundational backdrop for any interfaith
ministry. Metaphysics is an aspect of spirituality that concerns the study of the nature of being, exis-tence, time, space, and causality. It bridges the gap between science and faith. By studying metaphysi-cal spirituality you can explore the development and enrichment of your own philosophy of true being.
This concentration assists you in understanding the mysteries of life from a perspective of under-lying principle. As an interfaith initiative it includes research into the paradigms of structure, form, meaning, and principle.
If you want to know more about the nature of being, the nature of soul, the potentiality and/or causality of form, or if you simply want to come to a meta-physical understanding of scrip-tural texts, this program is for you.

AIHT has included the study of the paranormal and the
psychic in its holistic interfaith concentration, for we believe that addressing the nature of mystery is but another path to exploring the Divine.
Near death experience, para-normal phenomena, quantum healing, ancient tools for Divine guidance and the work of the Shaman will be studied for their rich tapestry of interwoven aspects of science, experience, mystery and faith.

As we consider all the myriad ideas and ideals that we may know of and yet not truly understand, we make choices about whether we are going to lean toward or turn away from things that are unknown. For the student of inter-faith studies, seeking connection with the unknown is yet another way to move closer to the depths of the mysteries of the universe.
This concentration responds to the eternal curiosity surrounding such questions as what happens after death; what makes up the
non-corporeal world; and how one utilizes various psychic tools to access one’s own inner knowing. Relying on faith and science, you, as an explorer of alternate spiritual paths, will inquire into the secrets of the universe.

your studies may be as far reaching and open as you would like. But its breadth does not diminish its depth. In fact, what you’ll find at AIHT is substantive coursework that can assist you in developing confidence in your own spiritual gifts and interests, so that you can determine and/or affirm with greater clarity the direction for your life.
An interfaith education lends itself to informative exploration and experiential learning. Through this exploration and experiential dynamic students may become well acquainted with the topography of the interior world, thus developing confidence in their own ability to impact the world.
Some come to AIHT with an existing career for which they seek enrichment. Others come with a career option in mind, but for which they seek clarity of intention. Still others may want to apply them-selves to an area of interest in order to find a specific direction. What-ever the case, AIHT offers a curric-ulum that gives you, the student, the intellectual, spiritual, and practical stimulation to discover and develop a rewarding career.

As an ordained inter-faith minister, you can provide spiritual counseling; perform weddings and other rites-of-passage ceremonies, and “laying-on-of-hands” using alternative therapies. Ordained ministers are eligible to become recognized and, where applicable, registered as clergy. Since laws vary from state to state, AIHT recommends that graduates check with their state and local governments before providing these services as part of your ministry.
The career options in the field of interfaith ministry and holistic service are wide, varied, exciting, and rewarding. As you join in the process of self-discovery, you begin to create your own destiny.

As a partner in your quest for an interfaith education,
AIHT embodies an open admis-sions policy. This means that AIHT believes that you can exhibit the desire, self-discipline, and motivation to learn through inde-pendent study. While our faculty and advisors will work with you as your partner, we do not believe that you need a classroom or a teacher standing over you in order for you to accomplish your goals.
Of course, independent collegiate study also requires the demonstration of basic educa-tional preparation and academic aptitude. Therefore, high school graduation or the satisfactory completion of the General Educa-tion Development Test (GED) is required for admission at the bachelor’s level. Likewise, a Bache-lor’s degree is required to enroll in a Master’s program and a Master’s degree is required to enroll in a Doctoral program.
Therefore, as you enroll in the AIHT program of your choice, you are beginning a journey into a ministry of service. You can count on AIHT faculty and advisors for

transfer of credits from other schools
If you have completed at least one quarter or semester of college work, you may be able to transfer some credits to AIHT. Dependent on the comparability of the course-work, you may be able to transfer up to 18 credit hours per program.
reQuirements for transfer of credit
• In order to evaluate the efficacy of transferring credits, AIHT’s Admissions Department must receive an official transcript from the college from which you wish to transfer credit. While provi-sional transfer of credit can be based on an unofficial tran-script, official transfer requires an official transcript.
• In order to transfer credit from a specific course, the grade received for that course must be a C or higher.
• The course must be compa-rable to that which is required for your program of choice.
Please note that credits to be transferred must be earned prior to your enrollment at AIHT. If you enroll in and complete outside course work during your term as a student, those credits will not be transferable within our established curriculum. After enrollment, if AIHT finds that any credits transferred from another school do not meet the above criteria, the student will be required to take those courses.
enrolling With advanced standing
If you already hold a bach-elor’s degree, you may enter AIHT at the master’s level by completing the prerequisites. You may enroll at the doctoral level if you hold a master’s degree and complete the required prerequisites.
Advanced standing may be based upon a non-official tran-script that must be sent to AIHT along with your completed applica-tion upon enrollment. Please note that you will need to furnish offi-cial transcripts showing the dates that your degrees were awarded, within six weeks of enrollment.
27
PREREQUISITES: Students enrolling at the master’s level are required to complete any specified AIHT bachelor’s level coursework that is not supported by trans-fer credit from another school. Likewise, students enrolling at the doctoral level are required to complete specific AIHT bachelor’s and master’s courses that are not supported by transfer credit from another school.
AIHT offers students a discounted prerequisite price of $150 per course.
self-Paced study
Once you are enrolled, you will find that AIHT’s independent study format is non-traditional in the best sense of the word. Because we understand that you are an adult learner with personal and professional responsibilities, we have formulated a flexible program that works within your schedule.
Therefore, instead of quarters or semesters, the school allows you to enroll at any time, and progress at your own pace. You must be enrolled a minimum of six months and must complete your program
within five years. You may become an AIHT graduate as soon as you successfully fulfill your educa-tional and financial agreements.
For some this means that they can be free to speed up the course-work to meet a particular deadline. For others it means that they can slow down the process either to fit within certain time constraints or to savor the process of the journey. We understand that you know your educational needs, your obli-gations, and your desires, and trust that you will fulfill them to the best of your ability.

transfer of credits to other schools
Depending upon the academic requirements of other schools, you may be able to transfer credits earned with AIHT. Just as we have our own criteria for awarding credits, so, too, do other educa-tional institutions. AIHT will send official transcripts to any school upon your request. Each student may order up to three transcripts free of charge.

The newsletter also offers students the opportunity for AIHT to proudly promote and publicize their noteworthy achievements.
“When a student embarks on
the educational path at AIHT, it is
like a labyrinth journey. When you
stand on the threshold of enrolling,
your intention may be to earn a
degree. You can see your goal at all
times but may not know how long it
will take to reach it or what you will
encounter along the way. With each
course, you journey to your own center
and return to the world more aware
and compassionate with yourself
and the global body. Along the way,
you realize that the learning process
is the goal. In a world filled with
spiritual hunger you become an agent
of change—you are transformed.“

In my work of over 30 years,
I have seen how essential it is to
re-connect at the mind/body/
spirit level. With dysfunction or
dis-connects, the human spirit is
wounded and will strive to mend/
heal. Of course, in this culture, the
mind is heavily emphasized at
the expense of emotional/spiritual
integration. AIHT provides excellent
philosophy/guidance for using
thinking to rebalance the mind/
body/spirit connection.

“I understand our life
journey to be a mystical search
for who we truly are. While
there may be difficulties and
hurdles in store for each of us,
C. G. Jung thought that ‘The
right way to wholeness is made
up of fateful detours and wrong
turnings’ along this circuitous
pathway of life'.
In my own life I find that
dreams—often thought of as
God’s forgotten language—are
vitally important messages
from beyond that keep us
connected to our inner voice,
the voice of our soul."
