BALASORE(ODISHA): India success-fully test-fired its interceptormissile off the Odisha coast onSaturday,achievingasignificantmilestone in the direction ofdevelopingatwo-layeredBallis-ticMissileDefencesystem.Theinterceptorwaslaunched

from Abdul Kalam Island(Wheeler Island)of ITRatabout7.45AM.Thismission,termedas“PDV

mission is for engaging the tar-getsintheexo-atmosphereregionat an altitude above 50 km ofearth’s atmosphere”, said aDefenceResearchDevelopmentOrganisation(DRDO)official.“Both, the PDV interceptor

and the twostage targetmissile,were successfully engaged,” hesaid.The target was developed for

mimickingahostileBallisticMis-sileapproachingfrommorethan2000kmawaywaslaunchedfromashipanchoredintheBayofBen-gal.In an automated operation,

radarbaseddetectionandtrack-ingsystemdetectedandtrackedtheenemy’sballisticmissile.The computer network with

the help of data received fromradarspredictedthetrajectoryofthe incomingBallisticMissile.PDVthatwaskeptfullyready,

took-off once the computer sys-temgavethenecessarycommandforlift-off.TheInterceptorguidedbyhighaccuracyInertialNaviga-tionSystem(INS)supportedbyaRedundant Micro NavigationSystemmoved towards the esti-matedpointof theinterception.Once the missile crossed the

atmosphere, the Heat Shieldejected and the IR Seeker domeopenedtolookattheTargetloca-tionasdesignatedbytheMissionComputer.

BPO Promotion Schemes - Creating IT Jobs Near YouMinistry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), Government of India, has launched BPO Promotion Schemes to createemployment opportunities in smaller cities/towns along with promoting investments in the BPO/ITES sector by providingfollowing financial support in the form of Viability Gap Funding to eligible companies across the country:-

Capital Support: Up to 50% of one time expenditure incurred on admissible items with ceiling of Rs. 1 Lakh/Seat.Special Incentives (% of eligible capital support): For units encouraging employment to women (5%) and personswith disability (2%), providing employment beyond target (5% to 10%), setting up operation other than State capital(5%) (Specific to IBPS) and Up to 50% of training expenses with cap of ₹ 6000/- per employee (Specific to NEBPS).
