Last year’s Reynolds Performance line was a huge success. The new design,

wider rims, braking improvements and price points made it one of the best

carbon wheel deals in the industry. It’s even better for 2015! The Performance

line is now tubeless ready! Product should be available in October 2014.

Nikola Innovation Amazing innovation in pedals!

Nikola Innovation created a unique concept that improves pedaling efficiencies

and rider comfort for cyclists through its patented Zivo™ Technology. Combining

the two motions of a skater and cyclist into one provides new efficiency, comfort,

and power for the cyclist.

Studies shows, Nikola’s revolutionary pedal stroke creates a motion that

distributes work in the legs introducing new muscle usage. The efficiency allows a

person to ride using the same effort, with a lower energy cost. The benefit will be

tremendously appealing to cyclists, racers, commuters, and stationary bicycle

trainers. Additional feedback from the test subjects stated the potential for relief

from lower body joint pains associated with riding.

The Nikola Pedals are Keo cleat compatible. SPD versions are in the works. We

will have samples in the coming weeks. Product is scheduled for a late November

2014 delivery. SS bolt version $339 Ti bolt version $569, other models coming.

Currie Technologies - Accell Group

As it was last year, one of the busiest places at Interbike was the Accell Group

Area. A majority of the booth featured E-bikes from IZIP, Haibike, eFlow, Raleigh

and Lapierre. Note (Raleigh and Lapierre E-bikes are sold through Raleigh)

More and more IBDs are discovering the growing market for electric bikes and

are enjoying the additional profits coming in. At IB 2014, Gary Fisher proclaimed

E-bikes to be the “next big thing”. Others called E-bikes a Godsend for their

stagnant road bike business.

Currie Technologies has emerged as the market leader. Their IZIP products are

diverse, mid to high-end E-bikes, perhaps the “sweet spot” of popularity. eFlow

are Swiss designed sport bikes. The Haibikes from Germany all feature the

Bosch mid-drive system, impeccable design and engineering.

Here’s a summary of the 2015 IZIP line-up:

E3 Path Plus ($2400) Features a drive system with a 500 watt motor, 48 volt

battery, Euro city bike styling, 700c wheels and fenders. Diamond and low step

frames are available. A great commuter E-Bike.

E3 Zuma ($2550) now has a 48 volt battery and bold frame design. The battery

is seat tube mounted. It’s the industries’ best comfort cruiser. Low step and

standard frames are offered, as well as lots of fun color choices.

E3 Dash ($2900) is a speed model designed to go fast. The 500 watt motor can

push the bike to 28 mph. A downtube mounted 48 volt battery improves the

handling. The 700C wheels, Shimano Drive train, aggressive riding position and

sleek design, spells fast. There’s a new stealth color scheme for 2015.

E3 Metro ($2950) This popular commuter/utility bike now uses an in-frame seat

tube battery design. The 500 watt motor and new 48 volt battery will easily haul

you and whatever cargo you are carrying on the rear rack or front mounted

(removable) basket. The matt black, step-thru frame should appeal to everyone.

Peak Dual Suspension

E3 Town eXP ($3000) is perhaps the ultimate urban E-Bike. It features a sleek

durable compact frame and 20” cast wheels for easy maneuverability and

storability. The 400 watt motor and high capacity 48 volt 10.4 Ah will give you

plenty of power and extended range.

E3 Peak ($3100) Wow! An off-road bike with a 350 watt centerdrive motor, 48

volt downtube-mounted battery, 650b Wheels, SRAM drive train and Rockshox

fork.

E3 Peak DS ($4500) Dealers requested this bike and here it is for 2015. A dual

suspension version of the Peak. A beautiful machine.

E3 Sumo ($3650) Fat Tire, 350 watt center drive. Tame the roughest terrain

with this E-Bike. The high torque of the centerdrive will tackle the hills too.

E3 Compact ($2150) Quality folding frame by Dahon. Front hub motor and rear

battery on rack for excellent weight distribution. The long seat post design

accommodates a wide range of riders. High gearing gets you up to speed.

This is by far the strongest line-up we’ve ever offered. We provide unmatched

products, support, training, and programs to grow your business now, and

position yourself for the future.

eFlow 2015

Engineered in Switzerland, they boast the latest technology, features and design in a high

performance E-Bike. The eFlow is perfect for commuters, or for anyone looking for a quick,

high-performance bike that's both easy to use and incredibly fun to ride. eFlow was the first

electric bike to win the iF Gold Award for design.

E3 Flight ($3700) eFlow took off a few features and delivered a bike for $500 less than the

Nitro. A slightly lower capacity battery (396Wh) and a rigid front fork, mechanical disc

brakes and a 1x10 drivetrain are all that differs the Flight from the Nitro. Both the Flight

and Nitro can be ordered in a speed version or a high torque model.

E3 Nitro ($4200) eFlow’s top-of-the-line model includes, an RST monoshock to smooth out

rough roads, a 20-speed drivetrain, internal cable routings for a clean look and hydraulic

disc brakes, which have electronic sensors to cut power to the motor and activate

regenerative braking to send power back to the battery. The unique battery is part of the

seat post, keeping the weight perfectly centered. As with the Flight, a speed version that

can reach 28 mph in pedal assist mode, is offered or a high torque version for those in hilly

areas.

BodyFloat by Cirrus Cycles

We were skeptical about BodyFloat by Cirrus Cycles, but things about it piqued

our interest. 1. It is engineered and made in Bellingham, WA by a group of cycle

industry guys with roots in the old Softride (bikes w/beam post and spring stem)

Company. On staff is an ex-pro racer, industrial manufacturing veterans,

consumer products operations wiz, CPA, MBA and journalist. A talented bunch of

people. 2. The product was recommended by several of our trusted dealers who

have tried the BodyFloat. 3. Outside reviews were glowing. 4. We then met

Charlie Heggem who put us on the product… Riding is Believing, it transformed

our ride immediately and made us believers.

Charlie’s demo is amazing, BodyFloat quickly sold through their initial inventory.

They secured a new parts supplier and funding and are back in business with 3

models. The new alloy version is a lower price companion to the carbon and

titanium models.

The BodyFloat is a tunable isolation seatpost that does not use any dampening. It

isolates you from uneven terrain below, making for a more comfortable ride.

More importantly, the non-dampened springs allow for a more efficient pedal

stroke. Different rate springs and an adjustment screw, fine tune the spring

force allowing for different weight riders. Every rider has an optimized ride!

Another benefit is that you remain seated on your bike, weight stays on the

wheels. Cornering is significantly improved. Some liken it to carving turns on skis.

BodyFloat Dealers and users are in good company. Exposure at the Tour of

California, Interbike, and numerous cycling events earned BodyFloat the

admiration of pro racers, reviewers, bike vendors, trainers and industry icons.

Stay tuned.

The post comes in one size 27.2 for now. Shims are available to fit most bikes. A

new lower cost alloy version has been added to the existing carbon and titanium

models. POP materials, fitment charts, demo programs, spring kits, we have it

all. Please call for more information.

Kali Protectives

The Kali booth IB 2014

The helmet market is a crowded place but Kali Protectives continues to grow their

business by offering the following:

State of the art patented technology and features

Premium materials and construction Full range of product offerings

Attractive dealer programs, margins and MAP policy

Value at every price point Incredible comfort, fit and safety

Kali Helmets employ a variety of different materials to achieve strength and weight savings. Composite fusion, multi-density foam and innovative construction yield superior impact

protection. Features such as reinforced vent openings, break away visors and integrated camera and light mounts set Kali above the competition.

Kali Protectives has researched MIPS – Multiple-directional Impact Protection System.

Their official stance is anything promoting Helmet Safety they are in favor of, ie the dual density cone construction licensed by Kali. Kali does not use MIPS because in their testing

there was no conclusive evidence that it works.

MIPS consists of a low friction layer of material sandwiched between the inner padding and outer shell of a helmet. The layers are held in place by pliable rubber pins that will stretch

and activate the technology in the event of a crash. When the external shell slides independently from the internal liner, the helmet absorbs more rotational force and reduces

the energy transferred to the brain. MIPS is a 17 year old technology licensed to anyone.

However in real world cases the head is never coupled to the helmet securely enough for the slip plane to be effective. MIPS is a slip plane designed to rotate and avoid brain

rotation. It works unilaterally front to back, not side to side. We don’t need MIPS, as the helmet lining and your hair, skin and scalp already provide an effective slip plane to protect

against rotational forces.

Kali Protectives does and will continue to offer helmets with cutting edge technology and

the highest degree of safety available.

Let us show you the wide range of helmets and the value and the features advantages.

The Volagi Titanium Model

Volagi 2015

Volagi’s Titanium bike is here and a great addition to their steel and carbon models. Both the steel Viaje models and Liscio carbon will be available with new 2015 component groups from Shimano and Sram. Volagi was a pioneer in offering disc brakes on their road bikes and will be among the first to give their customers hydraulic disc options.

Volagi dealers will now be able to order custom componentry for their customers. For example, say your customer wants to order our Liscio Carbon frame with Dura Ace 9000, but wants a Ultegra 6800 crankset and brakes. No problem, as long as the components are compatible. Simply spec the bike as you want it on Volagi’s website site with their bike configurator tool and in about 5 days the bike will be shipped to you!

The comfort endurance category which Volagi helped to launch is a growing segment of the market. Volagi leads the way with their longbow stay suspension, disc brakes, 135 mm rear spacing, wide tire clearances and fender mounts.
